A little upset Charlie took out Doc. But at least we get to see Papelbon slam the door shut.

Damn impressive by Pap. Really good win for the Phillies to start off the season.

I crunched a few numbers, and it looks like the Phillies are currently on pace for 162 wins, and 162 shutouts. Not a shabby season if I say so myself.

It's a good thing they're pacing for 162 shutouts, because they're also only pacing for 162 runs on the whole season. That's unimpressive.

I'm considering making every single bet you do. This seems to have been going well for you lately.

So, today's game will pretty much come to be a microcosm of the season. Everyone else is thinking that, right?

Something close to that, I'd have to assume.

Mayberry had two awesome catches in the outfield. Galvis made a good play on the double play from Rollins and to Wiggington on the double play in the first. Wiggington made two nice plays, one where he tagged the back on the bad throw by Rollins & the play to end the game.

Papelbon came in and threw accurate strikes and was on point, was a good opener all around minus the whole one run thing, but that doesn't shock me too much.

Now we both know the day that happens my luck will all go to hell We both will lose our money. I have another big bet that I put on hockey tonight. It's for over a grand if I win. God I hope. I posted that in the obsequious thread.

We will see... I have no problem posting my bets, so maybe if I can keep winning other will join in! I suggested we make a betting thread awhile ago, but seems i'm the only one here that does

I did it. Ran into harsh times haha. Plus I think discussing betting is frowned upon here. I may be wrong about that.

haha I remember you and I were sharing some picks... we both didn't to well then. I stopped for awhile and actually forgot I had a good amount of money in my betting account on Bovada. So I started betting again and won two of my three bets so far. College football is by far my best subject when betting.

I don't understand why betting is frowned upon here, we have the Vbookie thing? I know it's not money but it's the same concept

I think we debated such a thread a while ago and the verdict was "let's not do that."

wohooo, a win. I just hate how they usually have an off day between the first and second games of the season.

as bad as the offense was today, you've got to give credit to Bedard. He has had some pretty good years when healthy, let's hope they can 3 or 4 runs against Karstens.

Nice win, especially me sitting in a bar of mostly Pirates fans (yes plural). Going to tomorrows game can't wait.

Yankees give up two runs in the 9th to blow a lead. I am happy.

D'Backs hit a 2 run bomb off of Lincecum in the first inning. Very pleased.
