London 2012 summer Olympics thread

Hi guys, I couldn't find any other Olympic threads except the mascots one, so I thought I would kick off discussion ready for the games.

Team GB have unveiled their uniforms, and quite frankly they're horrible.

They appear to have forgotten the union flag is red white and blue, they must be trying to make the Scottish feel better so they will vote no to independence. Personally I think these uniforms would be much better

So have your countries unveiled their uniforms yet and what do you think of them?

If 2008 was any indication, we'll have an Olympic forum this year.

Good for a pre-thread though. Those uniforms are terrible.

The only uniform looking decent for GB is the one Jessica Ennis is wearing.

Here's Australia:

Pretty nice if you ask me. Keeping it simple.

Some of Canada's athlete apparel:

Windbreaker is great, the shirts are good, the tracksuit falls into the "when did black become a Canadian colour" problem, the jean jacket is quite a "WTF" addition and all should be collected and burned. Big fan of the patches but not the 'canvas'.

Not the strongest Canadian collection that's for sure. Didn't find the competition stuff though.

You think they are bad, then you look at the logo for the 2012 Olympics and think... "I suppose they could have been a hell of a lot worse!"

A denim jacket with patches...? So the British have faded, the Australians are irritatingly bright and perky and the Canadians looking like they've emerged from a Bon Jovi video? These are some apt outfits!

Is NBC going to time-delay coverage and results for human interest stories in today's age of instant information?

Lol, the logo couldn't be much worse. Most people think it looks like Lisa Simpson giving sexual pleasures, and Iran thinks it says "Zion"

Also in the Olympic news, Keith Moon will not be playing at the closing ceremonies despite the organizers reaching out to The Who's management. Probably not a big shock, what with him being dead and all.

I like and by the way, I went to school with Natalie Cook (who is third in from the left and she has always looked like a boy). I am not sure though but the daughter of someone my Mother works with is on the Hockeyroos (our ladies Field Hockey team that is).
