Wow. Great article!

It will be interesting to watch this train wreck unfold in the coming months.

If they are going to fail (and they ARE going to fail), I hope it's in embarrassing, historic fashion.

It's the only chance for a change to occur. Mediocrity or a modicum of success just dooms us to stay in the cycle of futility.

Not enough. This regime needs its feet put to the fire. The only issue I had with the story is the Bill Parcells leaving being bad on the Dolphins. Who the hell brought in Sparano and Ireland and had full control to do whatever he wanted with the team? He wrecked this team then sneaks away to a job at ESPN and nobody on there will call him out about it. I would love to have somebody ask him during a show "Bill you had full control and hired Ireland and Sparano and then left before your contract was up do you feel responsible for what has hapenned there?

re: Parcells

Just remember that I warned all of you about the fat fish. He won with Hall of Fame players with the Giants (that he didn't draft). Since then, what has he done (outside of benefit from working with betters like Belichick - who I can't stand BTW)?

Parcells is the most overrated man in pro football.

Having said that, some other idiot will probably throw a lot of money at him so that he can turn a bad franchise into a mediocre one (which a half blind monkey can do in the NFL).

The press is reporting on fan dissatisfaction, but as long as idiots say things like "I'll support the team no matter what", having a public hissy fit isn't going to accomplish much.

Having said that, STHers are down to 30,000. If even a third of them decided to walk away, that would certainly get attention.

Following the Panthers has made us all "experts" on bad franchises. We can diagnose it a mile away. The Dolphins are rotting from the head. The only solution is to replace upper management/controlling owner, strip the team to it's foundation, accumulate draft picks, tank for a couple of years and start anew.

You aren't going to fix the Dolphins with duct tape and bale wire.

I'm a Marlins fan until the day I die and I expect them to compete this year for the division with the acquisitions that were made during the off-season. However, honestly while watching last night, through one inning, I was wishing that the Panthers were on instead. Hockey is a million times more exciting to me than baseball.

I'm having a hard time hating on Ireland at the moment. He did a decent job with the draft, not great, but pretty good. I'm also becoming more optimistic about Tannehill. My hope is that they let him learn for a year, draft some 1st/2nd round wide receivers next year, and really start to become contenders in 2014. Here's a video.

One possibly decent draft doesn't make up for the body of evidence that parcels and company are charlatans.

I've learned a lot in the last decade of following the Panthers.

This team won't be a contender until there is a change in management.

Parcells doesn't have anything to do with the Dolphins organisation any more. I think of Ireland as a short order cook. His job was to get the best available player for the systems that Sparano and Parcells wanted to run. What I've seen this year is that with a different head coach, Ireland has picked different kinds of players. Now if Ross would just keep his nose out of football operations, I feel like we'll see a different team in coming years.

I realize, I'm probably being overly optimistic.

Didnt he shoot himself in the chest? I wonder if he did that so they can study his brain, and see what type of damage football has caused. Just a dumb thought.

I love Ireland's draft. I think he did a great job addressing needs, and most have a good chance to be starters in this league. The only thing that bothers me, regarding Ireland, is his rep around the league. I think he is a better than average GM, but his rep around the league is an issue.

I am the biggest Ireland hater there is, but he definitely gets an A- for this draft. For once, we nailed a draft.

Tannehill: We all knew Tannehill was going to be the pick at #8, and I have no problem with it, BECAUSE he is reunited with Sherman and he knows him. This kid has an arm, he's big and can move. Miami did not draft him to sit on the bench for 2 years. Despite what they say, the QB spot is OPEN and the minute they think Tannehill is ready, hes in there. You dont draft a QB at #8 to have him sit for a year or two. He will be the starter sooner than later.

Martin: Getting this guy in the 2nd round was a steal. We already have our franchise LT in Long, and now we get another anchor at RT. This guy is a smart football player and he will thrive at RT. Miami has a nasty OL anchored by two monsters.

Vernon: Dont really know much about this guy, but we needed a DE, so we drafted one. Some scouts say he reminds them of Cameron Wake. If he turns out to be another Wake, that would be huge. Sounds like he will immediately take over Jason Taylor's spot as a situational pass rusher.

Egnew: This is a good pick. This guy is huge, an doesnt play in the blocking game. We have Fasano as a blocking TE. He is a big target, he can move well, and can catch. A big red zone threat. I would much rather go with a rookie TE like this kid, than another year of Fasano, but if they go with a lot 2 TE sets, Egnew could shine.

Miller: This guy is a home run threat whenever he touches the ball. Projected to go in Round 2, we get him in Round 4. This was a STEAL of a pick. This offense needs playmakers and Miller is that. We are running the west coast offense so we need the ball in the hands of guys who can take it to the house at any time. Miller can do that. Even with Bush (Bush will have a great season) in this offense because we will be throwing more than ever, and if you dump the ball off to Bush, he will have a lot of open field.

Kaddu: Another one I dont know much about, but from what I've read about this kid, he sounds like a good pick, and is very quick sideline to sideline.

Cunningham: This pick I really like and could easily be another steal. Hes not the fastest, but he runs good routes, plays bigger than he is, gets to the ball, and comes down with the ball. He has really good hands and with not much competition at WR for the Fins, this kid WILL be on the team this year. He's set a lot of MSU WR records. He is perfect for the west coast offense.

Randall and Matthews: Again dont know much about either guy, but sounds like Randall has a motor, and another WR with good hands. We need WRs with good hands in this west coast offense, and we'll see what he can do.

Overall though, this was a really solid draft by Ireland. A big difference than having Parcells over your shoulder making you make picks you didnt want to make. Miami definitely did well this year and actually has put a lot more faith in me going into this year than I thought I would.

Former Chicago Bear Dave Duerson committed suicide last year, shooting himself in the heart. He did it that way because he wanted his brain to be researched by Boston University, which was doing a research on the effects football has on the brain. What is interesting is that they found he had a neurological disease that was caused by concussions.

In not saying that is the reason why Seau killed himself. He could of had personal issues that we obviously will never know about. Regardless, we need to really start looking at the effects football has on former players. Yeah, we had a few shockers in the NHL this past summer, but nothing like what is going on in the NFL. That age difference that you posted earlier is shocking, and until the NFL changes its stance on certain things, and a better helmet is invented, we will still see things like this happen.

Oh, dont take what I said as optimism, because Im right with you. I do have optimism from the coaching staff down, but Ross and Ireland scare the crap out of me. Ross' antics need to stop. He needs to stay to write checks, and stay out of everyday operations. With Ireland, I just do not think there is anything he can do to fix his rep. He can be the best GM in the history, but if players and agents do not like him, then he has to be let go. Its crazy to think that even mid-tier free agents do not want to play for the Dolphins.

According to ESPN, Mariano Rivera tore his ACL shagging fly balls in batting practice. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse for Yankees

I'm watching the OKC VS Mavs NBA game 4. Who's brilliant idea was it to give the crowd t-shirts that are the exact same color blue as the OKC jerseys? When I tuned in I thought it was a OKC home game!

I realize that blue is also a Mav color but the crowd should have been in white.

How about the Marlins 9-1 in their last 10!

Heath Bell even picked up the W last night...

The Fish have been playing great lately.

Fish are definitely hot right now! They came back to beat the Muts last night, after having their most successful road trip ever. The confidence really seems to be high right now, which is big in baseball. We really need to get the top of the rotation going, especially JJ. Josh hasnt been that good to start the season, and I hope he can pick it up soon.

And the Heat finally have their first MVP, LeBron James. I thought Wade should have won it a couple years ago, and I thought LeBron should have won it last season as well, but Ill take this one for him. He had one of the best statistical seasons in the last 20 years, and hopefully he can finally shut the critics up, and get that ring!
