the quality of french spoken by Marc Denis is about 10 fold better than Ben and Yvon. Marc Denis, a first year dude don't forget, will become a legend like Gilles Tremblay. You've read it here first.

Pedneault is terrible on every level at every facet in all the ways imaginable.
Houde is rather average also. He tries to do too much color commentaries, he should stick to play-by-play like McGuire does

I'm glad Brunet is relegated to the '93 alumni club, so I can finally handle him being the replacement, but I think Denis is one of the best I've ever heard. He really is amazing.

To be honest , I can't stand Marc Denis , the way he talks I think he's forcing it too much and he annoys me , Brunet was Brunet , so yeah , I definitely miss Yvon Pedneault.

I don't know what it is about Denis , I admit his french is good , but it sounds so unnatural and ''metallic'' (for lack of better word) that it's painful to hear.He also has a nasal voice that irritates me.His insight are equally moronic than any other commentator in general , but there's only so much you can say that is interesting to such a fanbase with good hockey experience.

I don't miss him one bit. As a matter of fact, I'll take Brunet ahead of him. I mostly really enjoy the positive Marc Denis brings to the broadcasts. Pedneault reminded me of an old lady complaining about everything.

I never had a problem with Pedneault based on the fact that I'm capable of making my own technical opinions and that what I like about a tandem is how they are together. Clearly, the chemistry was much better with Pedneault. Couldn't care less about their "funny" stories, it is hockey, it is entertainment after all.

I liked the classic duo of Pierre & Yvon, but Pierre and Marc will surpass that duo (if they haven't already).

Marc is surprisingly well-spoken for an ex-player. I'm a big fan already.

RDS managed to please and captivate anglophones who follow the habs, but I think they've been slipping. There was a time when I really liked the french broadcast, now I just tune to it because it's less terrible than CBC/Bob Cole

No, Pedneault can stay where the hell he is. Same for Benny, although I do miss the Benny threads. Those were hilarious.

Tellement

I miss Brunet because it was fun to laught at him (sorry BB ) But Pednault... not 2 sec.

Denis is the best I've heard so far, all languages and broadcast considered.

Denis >>> Dubé and it's not close. (3rd overall+Eller for J. Staal who's set to be UFA in 1 year)

Marc Denis is doing good, so good that I think Pierre Houde is getting jelly.

Idk why, but I have the impression that Pierre doesn't like him a lot.

AMEN!

I agree 100% with this.

Anyone who wants Pedneault back obviously doesn't have TVA Sports in his cable package.

Not sure where I heard this, but I think it's well known Pednault and Houde couldn't stand eachother.

The "chemistry" was only made up for tv.

Pednault has already stated in the past that his favorite team wasn't the canadiens or the nordiques. Let him rot elsewhere.

Should a habs pbp or color guy be a habs fan? I don't think so...

Yeah, who cares what team he cheers for. As long as he can do the job. I'd rather not have a homer, to be honest.

I didn't care much for Pedneault. I didn't think he was great, but he was entertaining, in a non voluntary kind of way. I thought he was better than Brunet, but then again, Brunet gets way too much hate for nothing (comparing him to Millbury? Yikes, not even close)

Denis is definitely the best of all. He's a bit monotonous, but very insightful and to the point. I appreciate it. And he feels more "in the loop". Sounds like he gets long with a bunch of Habs players.

Theres not a announcer in the league that doesn't cheer for the team they're covering. Not saying it should show but that it's necessary so that they really care about the team they are anchoring.

It was clear in Pednault's comments during the games that he wanted to see the team lose.

Gimme someone who knows the game and can actually give great comments 10000x before Jack Edwards. Not all pbp or color guy are fans of a single team. Marc Denis is doing a great job.

that's kinna how i feel too. but i do like denis. he'll liven up a bit.

as for the old duo, they always reminded me of these guys.

not associating the haters aspect or anything, just how they seemed like to old pals doing commentary.

Pedneault was good when he sticked to hockey. The problem was that, sometimes, they spent minutes talking about F1 or about the birthday of a member or wife of the RDS crew. I'm not a fan of F1. If I liked it, I would watch it. I watch hockey because I like it. I don't care about the rest. I don't have a problem in saying happy birthday to someone, but leave it there. I don't need to know about their personal life.

That's why I like Marc Denis. He sticks with hockey. He's competent, he knows his stuff. He doesn't know a lot about the rest of the NHL like Pednault does, but he knows his game.

He sounds like that only at the Bell Center, because he's in the middle of the action, and the crowd is very loud. He was criticised early for screaming too much, and now he gotta get himself heard, but not scream too loud. So yeah, he sounds a bit stressed. He's pretty cool on the road.

Unlike Brunet, he improved mighty fast. Brunet was worse than Pedneault, but Denis is a clear improvement on both.

To be fair Seb, you're not describing Pedneault here either. Most of what came out of his mouth was negative towards the player(s) and/or the organization. Fan of the team or not, it was extremely painful to listen to game in, game out. Good riddance.
