I think Bruin fans have also been vocal against the Pens.

I could watch only first and third periods but I did not notice any Rangers players participating in the game. Did anyone see any Ranger tonight??

anyway, with this lackluster performance, it will be an early exit from the playoff.

Any word on Stepan? Would not be surprised to see him miss significant time.

I'm staying away from that main board thread; too much whining Pens fans there.

Only thing uglier than the hit was the post-game commentary on the Pens radio provider. Dodging the question of whether or not it was a dirty play and criticizing the "organization" which they equate to "Mario Lemieux." The hit was really Stepan's fault because he was the one making the move. I really wish I was making this up.

If that hit had been Girardi on Crosby, there would have been riots in South Side tonight. However, I'm sure the reality is that Stepan was simply jealous of Orpik's having the two best knees in the game, and Orpik was tired of him whining about it.

When will we get word on Stepan? Is it a good sign that he stayed on the bench?

Yep, because according to that fan base, everything about the team is perfect and they could never do anything wrong!

A riot? In Pittsburgh?!

A drunken Paul Steigerwald soiling himself and throwing a whiskey bottle on the sidewalk =/= riot.

This is three knee on knee instances in three consecutive Pens games. Grossman, Boychuk, and now Stepan have all been injured with a knee on knee by the darling team of the NHL.

The fact that he could put weight on it is a good sign, however, it doesn't tell us that much.

Best case scenario it's a bruise or Charlie Horse and he has the week off to get ready.

Worst case he's sprained something and could be out 6-8 weeks, very similar to the Cally injury in 2007-08 when he collided knee on knee with Dawes.

Great point. Have zero confidence NHL has a spine. Campbell was/is a joke and after a promising start, Shanny has done little to change my view.

The league is really a sick joke. All because they have to protect their poster boy and his organization.

I'm not an orthopedist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express, so I can comment (actually, I am a doctor) - these things tighten up, usually it takes a day or two until the swelling goes down to assess if there is structural damage. The fact that he stayed on the bench means little, I'm more disturbed that he was allegedly still limping afterwards in the dressing room. However, if it were more than a Grade 1 sprain, he would likely not be walking around, so I guess my best guess is a Grade 1 sprain, certainly won't play Saturday, might be available for the first game of the playoffs up to missing about 2-3 weeks at worst, most likely out 7-10 days.

As a Yanks fan....I never thought I would hate a team as much as I do the Red Sox. Well...thats no longer true. The Pens have entered "Sox hatred" territory w/me. Congrats, you POS organization.
