Declaring for the draft is more plausible. No point in transferring because players need to wait a year before they can play at a different school anyway.
Normally that would be the case, but apparently it doesn't apply when the school they transferred from is ineligible for the next season. Oriakhi is looking to transfer and the reports are that he won't have to sit out because UConn is ineligible.
UConn men banned from 2013 Big East Tournament AND 2013 NCAA tournament because their basketball team did not meet academic requirements.
I guess that means nobodies fixing their test scores anymore, because like I said before, there's not way 2/3 of the kids on their last Championship squad could pass any course more difficult than, "Sign your name (an X doesnt count) 101".

Wow. That completely defeats the purpose.
So let me get this straight.
UConn can't play basketball because a group of 15 or so individuals, as a whole, can't pass a test. So, you punish the entire university - the coach, the fans, etc - and then you allow those 15 individuals to transfer with no restrictions if they elect to do so. So now UConn is forced to field a team of 15 players, who have nothing to do with the inelgibility, yet they can't play in the tournaments. Meanwhile, 15 jack ***** who can't read are playing on 15 new teams, all eligible to play.

Ridiculous.
Well actually the coach could leave and coach another team without penalty. That's what is really messed up. The players who did well in their classes and possible future players are the ones who really get screwed by either having to go to another school or staying and being punished.
Welp... Davidson and St. Mary's were both teams I had going out next round anyway (would have had St. Mary's going farther in an earlier version of my bracket), so its not terrible. But those would have been some nice points to grab
I really wanted them to pull that one off. Partly for history, partly because I have Gonzaga out in the sweet 16 anyway. Would have hurt others more than me.
