25% is still a joke. Hawks have a ton of playoff experience. Bring Tazer back and I like our chances against anyone in the 1st round. I would give the Hawks the edge on any team with home ice.
I'll go with "too close to call". I love our offense (when it's 5 on 5) and I'm mostly fine with our defense, most of the time... it's definitely a winnable series...but who knows???
Hawks need to stay out of the box against any team because the team's PK is abhorrent. Yeah the PP has sucked and people complain about that to no end. The ineffectiveness of the PK is what is going to do this team in.
Hawks will most likely be 6th so I don't understand why the speculation would be Hawks/Preds. How likely is it exactly that the Hawks beat the Wings in regulation at Joe Lewis? Not very.
What is the first tiebreaker? Season series? Or games won in regulation OT? I thought Detroit has that...
Games won in regulation or overtime.
If the Hawks win in OT/SO, they end up with 1 less point than the Wings.
If the Hawks win in regulation, they end up with 101 points, the same as Detroit. Both teams would have 39 wins in regulation/overtime, so the next tiebreaker after that is the season series (which Chicago has already won)... and thus the Hawks would get the 5th seed ahead of the Wings.

I disagree I think the Wings will rest everyone important, and the Blackhawks will accidentally win. The best thing the Hawks could do is kick the puck in there own net a few times.
Projections like these are absurd, it's always 50/50. It's playoff hockey.
This is a good response!
In my non-HFBoards life, I'm a lawyer and do litigation...when clients ask my what their potential risk is, the answer many of us lawyers in my field are forced to give is "you've got a 45, 50, or 55% chance...and at this point I"m not sure which one it is".
