as much as I dislike the rags, that play wasn't what hockey should look like. Torts should be furious.

Pens will get away with it though. Makes one wonder sometimes

The fact that he stayed on the bench means little, I'm more disturbed that he was allegedly still limping afterwards in the dressing room. However, if it were more than a Grade 1 sprain, he would likely not be walking around, so I guess my best guess is a Grade 1 sprain, certainly won't play Saturday, might be available for the first game of the playoffs up to missing about 2-3 weeks at worst, most likely out 7-10 days.
Thanks. Thank god for the break we get after Saturday. We should be able to beat the Caps in this game without him. If we lose maybe we get Florida in 8th place. So it's not all bad.

Also if you watch the slo-mo it looks like it hit him in the thigh really. Not that this couldn't cause a knee sprain at the right angle, but it may well be a charlie horse. Of course if you recall way back in the day that kept Messier out for a whole series. Hopefully a solid week he will be ok.

Was that one in the last minutes of game 81 when the Rangers were already ahead by 3 goals?

I'm honestly not trying to be confrontational. Staal's practically has his back turned before Rupp even makes it on to the screen.

So you think Rupp would intentionally try to injure his ex-teammate?

If it was a charlie horse, I would expect him to be okay for the playoffs, I recall that about Messier, but a charlie horse is a bruise, once the blood clot is re-absorbed, there is no permanent damage, not so for knees.

I mentioned it in the other thread, how the "whiners" didn't say a word about it.

Not trying to change anyone's mind about the Orpik hit, just trying to hear SOMETHING along the lines that in retrospect, it was no different than this hit.

Not sure you know what confrontational means...

I'm not trying to start an argument, but you're wrong.

This was from a mod over at the main boards.

There have been NYR fans complaining in private about being called the "Rags" therefore, going forward, they are to be called the Rangers.

And this is no longer up for discussion. We have enough to deal with in this thread that we don't need a discussion over the decision of how to properly address the NYR.

Is it me or does that seem to be posted in a derogatory way, as though he/she wants us to be perceived as a whiney bunch? Seems kinda unprofessional IMO. See what I did there ^. Anyways I had the biggest grin on my face while that interview was going down.

Then came the medial collateral knee ligament injury Jan. 6 in a leg-tangling collision with former Penguins winger Mike Rupp of the New York Rangers.

"There's no bad blood," Staal said of Rupp, adding that he "is a great guy. I really respect him as a player."

We are in an awesome position either way.

Except Florida plays Canes in their last game of the season. They pick up a point and they win the division and lock up #3 seed.

Also Ottawa can still finish 8th. Panthers pick up a point, Caps beat us and Sens lose to Devils. Lot can still happen.

Moo is one of the coolest mods here. He wouldn't do that.

Except it was completely different.

Completely different scenario, completely different game, completely different hit.

Tell me where Rupp aims his knee at Staal's like Orpik BLATANTLY did?

Gosh, these are the only fans to basically invade this board. Aside from a few instances(one poster everyone now and again) I've never seen so many different fans of another team come around to chime on whatever makes them feel better after a game.

Our mods are too nice. Sick of Pens fans coming to our boards when if we go there we'd be infracted in a nanosecond.

Agree.

Why would our fans complain about being called 'that'. As far as I'm concerned they can call us whatever. All we do is win.

Easily the most obnoxious fanbase in the NHL.
