That's still not an A season, IMO. Gardiner gets an A because he's amongst the best rookies in the league logging big minutes. Gunnarsson has been solid but if he gets an A, relative to his peers, what does an Erik Karlsson get? AAA+++++++?

For me, the grades were based on my expectations of a player (A = exceeding expectations, B = meeting expectations, etc.), not an NHL 12-type overall rating of them as players.

He's a 21 year-old prospect who is not ready for the NHL, and even if/when he pans out, projects as a third-liner at this level. I'm sorry, but you're completely out to lunch if you were expecting him to come in and light it up in his first ten NHL games.... or make much of a difference at all, especially considering the state of this team at the moment.

I agree with just about every player grading. I might lower Connolly to a C-, Steckel to a C+, and raise Liles and Franson slightly. But yeah, that's a good assessment of this season.

I'm not sure if this grading is being done relative to each players' individual roles? Or if everyone is on the same scale?

Kulemin doesn't deserve an F. Offensively, you could probably give him an F, but as a teammate he still found ways to be an effective player, if he hadn't he would have been benched or demoted way more often. He was still one of our hardest working players, stayed responsible defensively and made an effort to create energy and create plays when on the ice, that alone keeps him away from the fail zone.

Everyone is probably using their own meter. For me I like grading on their role and what is expected of them. Steckel was better at his 'role' than say Army was. etc.

Going from a 30 goal scorer to 7 goals is total failure in my books. Sure he did other things well. but he really really regressed. Not good enough for a D in my books. Sorry we might have different scales. or ways to grade.

Bozak has done more than anyone expected. On an absolute scale compared to other NHL players the B+ is fine. But really if at the beginning of the season I had to project what would be an A score for him - well his numbers did just that.

Also Schenn has been terrible as well. And the goaltending is questionable and should be lower.
