Modano was very lazy in his final years as a Star. He feels completely entitled to everything in Dallas, still to this day.
Modano, though, earned it early in his career to get away with that crap later in his career IMO. Morrow hasn't done anything except take this team to ONE conference final.
I'll agree he did get lazy in his final years but he wasn't captain when he eventually started to become lazy. It was stripped and given to our whatever captain now.

The Captain personifies the team. Think about it. Boston-Chara; big, strong, defensively sound, tough. Just like the Bruins. Canucks-Sedin; quick, great hands, great vision, all around great offensive player. Just like the Canucks. The best example in my opinion is St. Louis-Backes; strong, two way, gritty player that honestly doesn't have a ton of offensive talent but works his tail off to contribute. St. Louis has won games all season with gritty, hard nosed, two way efforts. The captain is very important in my opinion. As an outsider, I think it has to go to Loui.

The outlier was the first 16 games not the last 40+. This is just Sourey being you know, Sourey. There's a reason he was run out of Edmonton beyond issues with the club up there.
I'm not sure there's a guy on the roster who should be captain of this team. If Morrow goes, please god let Morrow go, roll with the A until this club finds an identity.
How can any self professed hockey expert watch Robidas play and call him good? On his best days he's a 5th or 6th defenseman who should get 15 minutes a night. Most of the time I like Ribeiro and what he brings to the Stars but enough is enough. If there's any way he can be traded to Nashville for Blum+ or my pipedream scenario to Florida this off season for Bjugstad then he needs to be gone. The entire culture of this team needs to change which means the vast majority of this roster needs to go.

That's funny. I know I was dead against that signing and most people here said it was Edm's fault for making it a nasty issue.
To be fair, he was pretty decent for us. I expected him to be out for long stretches with his issues with injuries, but he hung in there, although he did regress drastically wrt his offense after that initial outburst. I guess 6-15-21 +11 is decent for the salary he got, but he isn't part of the plan and should NOT be brought back.
