Anyone else playing the OpenBeta, or played the closed Beta?
What do you think? Anyone think they may actually purchase it once it's released? Thoughts?
I just started playing the OB, and I'm really liking it. I've been playing WoW since vanilla, and I'm feeling that AION might finally give me a break off WoW after so many years. I'm really into it, atm.
I had a thread going with some replies earlier. I was contemplating downloading the beta. A friend is intent on buying it, but me being the huge WoW "fanboy" I am I think I'm going to sit this one out until Cataclysm.
Got a OB key through Fileplanet, booted it up, and encountered horrendous lag. The game screamed Korean MMO to me with very basic classes: Fighter, Scout, Priest, Mage. It looks nice but doesn't play much different than WoW and I don't play games that are too similar to that game anymore. I want something different in my MMO and Aion it isn't.
Now The Old Republic I'm looking forward too since it seems story driven and it's sci-fi/fantasy in the Star Wars universe. Hopefully that will be the Star Wars MMO we hoped Galaxies was going to be.
Now that DDO is F2P I've been playing that anyway.
It was fun back in the day when the servers were full, but they catered wayyyyy too much towards PvE'ers... Putting guards everywhere so you could barely PK people from the opposite faction. Too many people whining on the forums about getting ganked I guess.
Most people I know quit and don't plan on going back. Also they're basically giving out Tahabata weapons if you buy that $45 cube from their store. People had spent probably months, if not over a year to farm that weapon and now they're just giving them out I feel bad for people who spent time farming them.
