I'm praying that the reffing doesn't screwjob us worse than usual. That's all I'm asking. Every time we play the Pens, the reffing is a joke. Just please...don't be worse than usual.
Also praying that the Penguins don't resort to cheap **** like usual, but I can't see that happening. They don't get called for it, why stop?
**** Pittsburgh. There is almost nothing in this world that can get me angry, but damn do they do it.
The best we can hope for is that they let the teams play but call only the obvious or automatic calls.
If the refs manage a fair series, and bryz carries on with his form we take this series in 5. I really hope this is the year that we knock that cry baby punk out of the play-offs. It would be sweet, sweet redemption.
I would also seriously consider resting Giroux, kimmo and Harts tommorow. With the recent attack of knee on knee's i'm sure the penguins will be looking to take another player off the ice.
Hoping for a good clean fight between those two in the playoffs.
If the Pens want to get dirty, let them take the penalties, capitalize on them. Don't do anything stupid unless the really target individual players, then let them taste some of their own medicine!
What cracks me up is the "they bring out the worst in us/me" comment Crosby made last week after the Flyers-Pens game and yet they turn around and do the same **** to the Rangers. Knee-on-knees, slashes, spears and somehow the fans are blind to all of this or they simply don't care. Sure it's worse against rivals but the Pens are always *****es.
John Tortorella's comments after yesterday's game between the Rangers and the Pens:
Quote:
"I wonder what would happen if we did it to their two whining stars? Wonder what would happen?" Tortorella said, referring to Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. "So I'm anxious to see what happens with the League. There's no respect amongst players. None."
Tortorella included several expletives into brief comments made following what essentially was a meaningless game for the Rangers, who have already clinched first place in the Eastern Conference.
"That's one of the most arrogant organizations in the League," Tortorella said of the Penguins. "They whine about this stuff all the time. It's ridiculous. But they'll whine about something else over there, won't they? Starting with their two (bleeping) stars."
Since we are bashing the pens I figured this belonged. Thats two coaches now irate with the cheap shots/gutless tactics of the Pens and voicing their opinion in the past week or so. IMO these are two of the best coaches in the league too.
This year's team has guts, heart, and drive I believe Bryz is going to shine, and the boys will step it up to another level, let's put these clowns out in 5, and **** the Pens bandwagon fans your organization has no back bone, Philly isn't scared even though the Pens are the spoiled bratty child of Bettman and the NHL, let's get 'em boys
Hell, if I was a Rangers fan I'd be cheering for the Flyers too.
It's not just that. I'm cheering for you guys because at least the Flyers built their team the right way. (ie: they didn't get top 2 picks for 4 years straight, including a potentially rigged lottery.) there is literally no one on the Penguins I like. No one. They're all arrogant little *****es. If Prust knees Crosby like that, you'd better believe that Mario and the rest would be whining non stop about it, but since Orpik did it, it's OK. I hope you beat them to little feathery pieces.
Side note: I am sure there is a thread about this somewhere but did anyone hear Torts last night?
He was livid about the Orpik knee-to-knee on Stepan. Which, by the way, isnt that the third knee-to-knee from the Pens in three games: Vitale against us, Asham the next game and Orpik last night.
He calls them the most arrogant team in the league and says imagine if it happened to their two whiny stars...etc.

Upp there it is, I was just mentioning this.
Three knee-to-knees by the Pens in three games. Hearing it on TV was awesome.
If I'm Lavy I'm limiting Giroux, Jagr, and Timonen's minutes in tomorrow's game. There is no reason for them to get injured when you know Pittsburgh will be trying to gain any advantage possible, be it moral, matchups, ect.
Wellwood, MAB, Read, Couturier, Schenn, Rinaldo, Shelley, ect. should be getting a lot more ice time tomorrow, let them feel out the Pens and get some more experience before heading into the series.
And in regards to Torts comments... awesome, finally if we can beat the Pens we may be turning a page with that franchise as being favored and receiving special treatment. Our fans and staff has been saying it for years, about time others have picked up on it and its not just "us whining". Torts is a well respected coach in this league, he doesn't say things like that lightly.
Did Claude Julien say anything the other night after they lost to the Pens. With all the flopping Letang did to get that 5 on 3 I thought he might have.
Seriously, the more the refs put their whistles away, the more it benefits the Flyers. As long as the calls are fair on both sides, I like the Flyers' chances. The thing is, my expectations for this team weren't at all high for getting deep in the playoffs, considering the injuries and the rookies all over the squad, so any success they have against Pittsburgh is gravy for me. Learn how to play in the playoffs and be even readier for next year.
In some ways I think Flyers are being crybabies. If Pens are doing this to us, why we dont just do back to them?
What if someone just Knocks out Crosby. That way, even if the Philly player who gets Cindy out of the game gets suspended, so what? We play the first round without that player, and they play us without Cindy.
Sounds like a fair trade. But really, quit the whining. If they try to deliberately injure one of ours, Philly should just go out and injure one of theirs. Eye for an eye.
But all this complaining does no good except get our blood pressure up.
Bylsma pointed to his knee while telling his players to hit Philadelphia Flyers and Rangers players Nick Grossmann and Derek Stepan “right there,” saying: “Remember me. I got the first one. I got the first one. Go get it,” while rubbing his fingers together to indicate there would be cash paid for the hit.
He also said: “Every single one of you, before you get off the ice, affect the knee. Early, affect the knee. Continue, target and hit the knee.”
About Flyers player Danny Briere, Bylsma said: “We’ve got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Briere's head. We want him skating sideways. We want his head sideways.”
Later, Bylsma talked about hits he wanted put on Claude Giroux, mentioning his history of concussions, and Kimmo Timonen, urging them to “take out” his knee ligament.
