I'd be shocked if Hank doesn't win the Vezina. Hart is a bit of a reach for him though, given the way Malkin's played and a potential 60 goal season in Stamkos.
Honestly don't see him having a real shot at the Hart. Vezina should be his though.
I'll tell you what, as much as I'm pulling for Henrik to win it, I'm thinking Elliot/Halak sharing the award would probably be the most deserving winners. Combined, their numbers are pretty staggering.
Vezina has been an individual award since the early 80s.
maybe after seeing tonights game more people will think lundqvist should get the vezina over quick he's not playing well in a game that could determine the division winner

Honestly idk what the hype over quick is. Hank is the most elite goalie in this league for his time. Brodeur = Lundqvist in their seperate times. But if Hank doesn't win it, and devil fans, ( my best friend is obsessed with ranger hating and she agrees Hank is the winner), he has been utterly robbed
Where did I say that Quick had a bad year? I'm just saying that this is the first year that he's even up there, Hank has been in the discussion for years now. + He's had those magic moments this year that are almost a "must have" for an NHL award (penalty shot in the WC etc.). Quick has had a great year, but not better than Hank. Did LA win their conference solely (almost) because of him? Nope.
You didnt say Quick had a bad year. You did say it'd be a scandal if Hank didnt win. Thats not true. Quik's numbers are almost identical to Hank's.
Quik to LA is what Hank is to Rangers. LA scored 187 goals in 80 games. 03/04 Blues are the last team to make playoffs while scoring less than 200 goals (191). (Panthers are stuck on 199 with a game to go).
IMO there's Hank/Quick and then a decent gap between rest of the goalies.
One factor that may play in Hank's favor is the fact that he hasn't let in more than 5 goals ALL season. If you count the shoot out with Ottawa, but other than that its been less than 4 every game hes played. The same cannot be said for Quick, and I'm not counting tonight. Granted the defense has a say in the less than 4 goals, but conversely you can also say that about LA's defense not being able to keep it to < 4 goals with Quick in net.

There's the Jennings trophy for just that situation. Two goalies equally sharing 40 games each isn't Vezina worthy. Neither Elliott nor Halak should be in the discussion pretty much regardless of their stats, as long as neither is a clear #1 on their own team. Playing 40 games is alot easier than 60-70.
Since alot of GM votes will probably come from stat hunting, I agree Lundqvist pretty much sealed the Vezina after tonight. The team playing some pretty crappy hockey after the All Star break made it alot closer than expected. If Quick can make this season performance into a yearly routine and not fall off, he'll have his Vezina. A nomination isn't that shabby either, it's a big accomplishment.
