It is really sad that if they get 6th that they could actually play SJ in the first round...all they had to do was beat a couple of these playoff teams down the stretch.
If we go 6th I would want to face SJS.
If we win than I'm happy
If we lose, it's about time Holland and Babcock try something new.
You can't be one of the best GM and coach and lose to same team in playoff 3 times in a row
If we lose against CHI it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world.
I think NAS is stronger than any Pacific team.
I actually want to face SJS 1st round.
If we win than yay we finally beat them
If we lose maybe Holland/Babcock/Lidstrom will be highly motivated to make some big moves.
I think our best chance to beat San Jose would be in the 1st before they get some momentum going. Plus, it would be sweet to boot them in the 1st round.
I really can't believe so many of you guys want to face San Jose, on the road, right off the bat. I just can't.
They've proven, even a down year for them such as this, they have our number. They have our number. I don't know if it's McLellan and his insider secrets, or maybe Thornton just loathes us so much that we're the only team he gets up for (seriously, he killed us again this year), but the statistics don't lie; they have our number, and have so for the past 2-3 years.
Living out here in "Sharks territory", so to speak, I couldn't handle another loss to that team. Maybe you guys are fine with it, but I just couldn't. I honestly think I'd rather take my lumps with Nashville. Depending on what Wings team shows up, at least we've proven this year that we can beat them.
I couldnt handle losing to nashville, i have too many friends in TN. Sharks or kings please.
Welp, I guess I'm pretty much in the same boat then, as far as the Sharks go.
Everyone I work with who likes hockey is a Sharks fan. Everyone in the beer league I play in with is a Sharks fan. All of my friends here that actually follow hockey are Sharks fan. Seeing the trend yet? And they all know I'm a Wings fan, and they never let me hear the end of it.
I guess it is what it is. Frankly, the way I look at it, though, is that I've had suffer more than most of you the past two years because of where I live. I say spread the misery around a bit, you know?
If we don't win on Sat I hope we get swept in the first round.
this stuff is so ridiculous. why do you want your favorite team that you root all season long to get swept in the first round? i would love to hear your reasoning

Sorry, dude, that sounds brutal. Let's hope we beat the Sharks then, shall we?
i want san jose more than nashville or chicago, 2 teams well overdue to beat the wings in a playoff series.
The Sharks have a penchant for beating Detroit, or at the very least taking them deep and wearing them out. If we are to pull our **** together and make a run out of this, Chicago would be ideal, followed by Nashville, then San Jose.
If you guys could just lose to CHI on Saturday, most of us would rather play them than you. Thanks!!
The Wings would have to try real hard to lose to the Hawks on Saturday. Toews still isn't ready to come back and Bolland will miss another game too. The Hawks will have freakin Brandon Morrison dressed and playing center. Not to mention O'Donnell will be in the lineup again because Montador and Olsen are out and Jimmy Hayes will be on the top line again because Brunette is out. And finally, with the way the Wings play at home, I'm not sure the Hawks would beat them even if they had a full lineup.
There are plenty of Hawk fans that want the Wings to win so the Hawks won't have to face your Preds.
I don't really think it matters a whole lot who we end up facing....this team reminds me of the 2006 Pistons who thought when they coasted into and during the playoffs that they could just "turn on the switch" whenever they felt like it...man was that annoying! Regardless of who it is, I see no drive or hunger from this time...almost as if they are going through the motions if anything.
I don't expect a long run this year...which in turn will hopefully wake up Ken Holland that he needs to make a few changes next offseason since he'll have the money to do so...
