my boy joe vitale took a shot to the face from chara today. i'll have to find out if he's ok tomorrow.
I don't think his knee to knee on Grossmann was intentional, and the hit on Briere was clean.
But in the event that he was intending to hurt both on those plays, the Hockey Gods have spoken. As much as I don't like to see any player take a puck to the face/head. Especially Chara's shot.
The mayor of Glendale BLASTED the NHL basically saying the league misled them and robbed them of 50m over the last two years. She went on to say she won't make the 25m budget expense available to the league this summer.

The Yotes are all but dead.
I feel bad for the Coyotes fans that support their team year in and year out. It's been a tough going for them and they're going to get screwed.
What does this mean now if they move, another team to Canada?

Seattle looks to be the new hot rumor. A ownership group is apparently in place who is willing to build a new building. The team would spend 2 seasons in Key arena.
Not sure if that's going to work the arena is horribly old and the sight lines for hockey are terrible.

Sad to hear. Too bad Quebec isn't ready for a team just yet without a new arena.
the irony... Winnipeg got their team back a year too early. The real Jets could have gone home again and the legacy being unspoiled with the Atlanta move.

joe is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. he's not the type of guy that goes out there with the intent to injure. play physical? sure, but not to hurt another player.

dont the nordiques have an arena all ready to go, despite building a new one? i thought they are ready to support a team, the new building is the future icing on the cake. as for seattle, well thatd be interesting. heard about that a couple times. the whole smoke thing.
That's a funny one Coyotes moving would be sad with their recent success and loyal fanbase even though I've personally never cared for the Coyotes (don't know why, I liked the Thrashers, like the Predators, Avalanche etc) They do play very tough and never give up though. I know for a fact I hate when the Devils have to play them. They are hard games to win and they have to work hard for the points they might get.

The current Arena in QC is a dump ,, For NHL team to play there even for a few years they would need a major renovation this summer
I wish Houston could get in ,, But Les Alexander is no longer interested in NHL after his 2 failed bids (Nearly got Oilers in late 90's to move to Houston and then his bid in last expansion draft failed because of 2 rival Houston bids watering down the cities chances)
KC has a great arena and I think hockey could thrive today. KC isn't the same dying/symbol of rustbelt it was back when Scouts/Kings played there

Building a stadium in the suburbs was the worst decision ever.

I lived in KC (and Manhattan, KS) for a few years, and I completely disagree. The arena, the Sprint Center, is great, but no one in that area likes hockey. In fact, they hate it. I got heckled many times while wearing my Devils jersey in public, but not for it being a Devils jersey. I got heckled for it being a hockey jersey. People there love football, then baseball/basketball (mostly college), then hockey is near the bottom right around cricket and curling. Maybe things are different deeper into Missouri, but the closer you get to Kansas, the more hockey is despised.
So who's gonna troll the Jackets out of their first pick?
I think they'd be secretly a little relieved if they got bumped to #2. Seems to be enough credence to the rumor that they'd like to end up with Filip Forsberg instead of Yakupov. If they got bumped, there'd be no second guessing in the media.
#5-9 are only separated by two points, so that's always fun to see who shakes out where.
