News on Boychuk is great. I hope they don't play him until the playoffs-that would give him about a week of rest and won't risk aggravating it in a meaningless game (at least meaningless for the Bruins since they are 2nd and staying there).

That "Im a barbie girl" song from the 90s.

I love this guy, tough as nails. Being tough like Boychuk is such a valuable commodity in a hockey player. We are lucky to have a few of em but I don't want to point them out for fear of jinx

Any update on McQuaid?

If he is experiencing PCS, maybe the way doctors evaluate players has to be overhauled.

Ya... Hope that's not the case. For two separate reasons. 1, quaider's well being in general

And 2, it opens up a huge can of worms about either our doctors, the way concussions are evaluated, or both. All not good.

Julien said that they are just being over cautious with McQuaid....via the Bruins twitter feed.

The first and most interesting development: Injured winger Nathan Horton skating, likely for the first time since early February, shortly after he suffered a concussion/neck injury on Jan. 22.

And then there was a suggestion from coach Claude Julien that defenseman Johnny Boychuk, who appeared to have incurred a serious left knee injury Tuesday against Pittsburgh, may not be hurt as badly as feared.

And finally, there was the on-going progress by injured goaltender Tuukka Rask, who looked good taking shots from Horton in the morning before the team’s practice.

Any follow ups on this??

Will Tuukka be good for playoffs?
Will Boychuck make game 1??
Is there really a chance for Horton to return???

Horton isn't going to come back. Julien said it was just a skate to see how it felt to be back on the ice and nothing more.

Being symptom free and able to skate is a long way from being in game shape. If Horton is planning on coming back, don't expect it until the third round or so.

I keep reading alot of the same, "if" the Bruins go deep in the playoffs Horty could come back. Problem with that is, the deeper this team goes (good thing) the longer Horty`s been off skate and away from the competitiveness that is playoff hockey, THAT is a huge problem IMO.

Yep (although not your return prediction)

Look guys, the fact Horton is skating and we haven't heard any mumurs of symptoms is a very very good thing. It could mean he'll be good to go and kick ass next year

But don't expect him back this playoffs, even if he's symptom free and healthy, the deeper we are the tougher it is, we can't use a guy that's been out of game shape for that long, not to mention that if we do make it deep, it likely means the team is playing really well already, so slotting in horton would mess that up.

This isn't a video game, these guys aren't toys, there isnt a ok he's healthy insert him factor to this at all

Horton at 50% would help this team. They desperately need another finisher.

I don't see Horton at 50% bumping anyone off this roster, not even Rolston.

Boston Bruins ‏ @NHLBruins Close
Chiarelli said that Horton is "quite far off right now" and it's a "long shot we'll see him."^BISH

Joe McDonald ‏ @ESPNJoeyMac Close
Peter Chiarelli called Horton's possible return for the playoffs a "long shot" and he's still having post-concussion symptoms.
