A team with a new owner...that has money...getting hyped in the off season because they went out and signed people.

Hmmm....lets hope we're not hearing the same thing next April.

Phoenix, personally.

Garrison is pretty solid, actually.

Wouldn't mind if he could replace Souray/Robidas (or both) for ~3.5-4M for a couple years.

Win both plus a split by LA & SJ in regulation I'm guessing?

Edit: Forgot they were above SJ. SJ two regulation wins, plus Phoenix winning out could do it as well.

If anyone expects him to have anywhere near a similar goal total they will be hugely disappointed, I'm sure some team is going to throw 1-2 million too much at him and is going to rue the day

He's not a bad D-man tbh though. And with that boomer of a slapshot, 10+ goals isn't that hard to expect. Hell even Goose has 9 this year.

Ok.

Garrison-Larsen
Daley-Robidas
Goligoski-Fistric
Pardy

Garrison-Larsen
Daley-Robidas
Goligoski-Oleksiak
Fistric

Garrison-Larsen
Daley-Oleksiak
Goligoski-Nemeth
Fistric

What, is that a logical progression of D pairs if they sign Garrison? Dallas also was pursuing Garrison when he left college.

I'd still really rather see Robispare moved, even though he is a pretty reliable fixture back there. I think the biggest issue is Goligoski and his place in the lineup in the future.

I expect to see goose traded sometime within the next couple of years. I just have a tough time seeing his place here in the future.

I'd prefer Garrison for two years and then see where we're at.

Sharks win in the SO. So we'd have been eliminated tonight anyways.

Definitely don't want LA to win the division, because the Stars have the Kings second round pick from the Grossman trade. It'd move down like 8 to 10 spots. So instead of like the 46th pick, it could be the 56th pick.

So just need the Sharks to defeat the Kings or the Coyotes to win Friday and Saturday.

So what you're saying is that if we keep our expectations low we will be satisfied. I like that perspective.

I'm actually not worried that we pull a Buffalo and prematurely blow our wad all in one offseason. Pegula talked about spending money early on and Gaglardi has talked about building from within since day one.

Free Agency isn't a place to build your team, it's a place to add on those complimentary players your organization needs. Rarely does a core player get added through FA.

If we were to sign Garrison, my expectations would to just be better than Souray and Robidas. If he does that, I think you could call it a success.

Well, yeah.

$6.7 mil for the next 8 years? Would much rather spend that on a player not named Brad Richards, please and thanks.

I suppose you'd consider that a wise investment?

I would consider it wise.

The Richards deal is fine. That team is a Cup contender thanks to him (Richards has been the hottest player since March, I believe). Not like they put an asterisk on the Cup if his contract is bad in a couple years. And if New York can shed Gomez, Drury, and Redden - they'll work out any issues with Richards. That trio of terrible deals didn't stop the Rangers from landing Gaborik and Richards the minute they hit free agency or retaining any of their home grown players.

The Richards deal will only help the Rangers.
