I know that it is hard for the paying Bingo fans to understand but the job of the AHL is to develop players. Do the players get better sitting on the bench watching more experienced vets? The brass has made the decision to let a lot of guys go to other places. Secondly the vets who are carer AHL'ers probably saw the writing on the wall as far as a legitimate chance to play in the show. They too, are still living their dreams.
Hershey always do well because they average about 10,000 people per game. They can afford AHL'ers. How are the Capitals doing? Big deal if they win in the AHL if they aren't developing NHL players.
The point of having vets on your team is to teach the young guys what it takes to be a pro on & off the ice. While some think there may be nothing to that even coach KK said this yr there weren't enough vets on the team to help teach these kids. Losing & not playing well does not set a good example either, while the best prospects will obviously play IMO it's better to have some good vets around to help teach these kids & send some of the prospects who may need more time or will never make the show to Elmira (ECHL).
Better to have our best prospects around a winning environment than a losing environment. Look how much that has helped Ottawa this yr with a number of young guys in Ottawa going to the Calder Cup. Winning breeds winning, unfortunately so does losing.

Good luck tonight B-Sens.
Why are they losing? There are few starters from last year and a group of ECHL players brought up to fill up the massive gaps left from the holes from the championship team. Unfortunately only a few have stepped up (to be expected). You don't think the players know that they are not doing well. I'm sure they would like to do better but the mass exodus to the Sens and the other teams has spelled TROUBLE.
Benoit and group wanted out I assume. The Sens organization isn't exactly spending a lot of money on refilling players.

There could be many reasons for why they had a crappy yr. One, they didn't get the goaltending they were expecting from Lehner after his MVP cup run, he just hasn't been very good in the regular season, again. They have had numerous injuries & some to key players like Parrish, Locke, Lehner & Wiercioch. I think their biggest loss though was Benoit to the KHL, he was a very good veteran pmd & PP quarterback. Not only did he put up lots of points, he was also the key to rushing the puck out of their zone, like Karlsson or making that great first pass. The loss of so many from last yr's team also hurt, as did the unexpected retirtement of Lee Sweatt.
Well, they spent a lot of money on Locke to play in the AHL but unfortunately he has been hurt most of the yr & likely will not be re-signed. With a number of prospects turning pro next yr there might not be a need to sign new vets. I would expect that some of the prospects that have been in Bingo for a yr or two or more should be enough veteran depth. I also expect that Boroweicki & Hoffman will return to Bingo, Zibanejad, Prince & Stone should help & hopefully Lehner & Petersson will also return. I expect next yr's team to be much better but they have to avoid injuries to key players.
The team was 18-18-2 with Locke in the lineup, which goes to show how much of a difference one player can make. I think the defence has been a bigger issue than goaltending--KK has been forced to over play Borowiecki, Gryba, and Conboy.
Sounds like Zibanejad may play a few games in Binhamton. I don't think Murray will burn a year on his contract to bring him directly onto the Ottawa lineup unless injury issues are a factor.
Binghamton shoots first for each round.

I see Godfrey was sent to Elmira. This makes room for somebody and should help them. Hopefully they don't keep rotating 5 D. Want to see if the hype is warranted for these two new young D. Any word on the Black Aces who will be going to Ottawa?

Could you Zeke, Ski & any other B-Sens fans give us a report on Cole Schnieder, Ben Blood, Mika Zibanejad & Matt Puempel after this weekend. Hopefully you guys will get an opportunity to see all four & can report on them. Thanks in advance & good luck to Bingo this weekend.
