The main boards has become the NHL 2.0. We're not allowed to talk about any player/coach bashing the Pens, but if Crosby talks **** about any other team or player, it's okay.

Saw this quote on another board, so embarrassingly true.

Quote:
Decapitating a knee, $2500 fine. Talking bad about the refs and the league, $10,000 fine. Mocking Crosby and Pens organization, $20,000. NHL, priceless. For everything else, there is Gary Bettman.

Where do I send my check?

Torts is 100% right. 2 knee injuries caused by 2 Penguins players in back to back games.. Hmmmm..

Just glad JB is ok and I hope Steppan is ok too.

So Tortorella gets fined for saying some mean things about the Penguins and Crosby/Malkin, but a dangerous knee-on-knee hit gets nothing.

See, it is things like this that make me love the NHL even more. You always know they have their priorities straight.

Obviously Torts doesn't gt fined when he criticizes DeBoer, because the Devils Aren't getting any special treatment from this league any time soon. But as soon as Torts talks about the Golden Boys of The NHL, it's a 20K fine.

****ing unbelievable. but yeah, the pens don't get ANY preferential treatment.

"Hockey is a tough, physical game, and it always should be. But what happened Friday night on Long Island wasn't hockey. It was a travesty," Lemieux said. "It was painful to watch the game I love turn into a sideshow like that."

The NHL had a chance to send a clear and strong message that those kinds of actions are unacceptable and embarrassing to the sport. It failed," he said. "We, as a league, must do a better job of protecting the integrity of the game and the safety of our players. We must make it clear that those kinds of actions will not be tolerated and will be met with meaningful disciplinary action.

"If the events relating to Friday night reflect the state of the league, I need to rethink whether I want to be a part of it."

Mario Lemieux said that after the Isles game last year. That didn't result in a fine. How is what Torts said different?

yep no ****ing bias.

Now that Crosby has chimed in does this mean he is allowed to be checked or is it still a penalty?

I don't get it. Or I don't want to get it.

I'm not saying the Orpik his even should have been suspended. But when you have cases of blatant hypocrisy like this one...

Torts said it would be interesting to see how the league handled this one. Well, it certainly has been.

Dreger tweeted that no discipline will come from the knee by Orpik.

It's kind of funny. Flyers fans, Devils fans, and Rangers fans all join together against the Pens.

Don't worry. The league still hates for the Kovalchuk fiasco.

I'm surprised the Devils didn't get fined or docked draft picks for circumventing the standings with all their shootout wins.

Hell i'm Bruins fan but its true, where is the discipline, shannahan looks like a moron, they won't suspend a repeat offender in Brooks Orpik, but you skate close enough to crosby that the wind touches him your in the box for two, do it again and its 5 minutes and a game

I was looking at the bruins board on this. They bring up such an excellent point, that I dare any lurking Penguins fan to explain this one:

After being hit by Lucic, Ryan Miller called him a gutless POS twice in 1 interview. Did he get fined for it? Nope. But Torts says that Cindy and Malkin whine, and he gets a heavy fine.

Explain. Please. I dare you.

They're makin it pretty obvious that the Pens are getting preferential treatment.

They provide no reason for the fine, since the reason is the Goldenboys

But if Lemiuex complained about your shootouts i'm sure you guys would have a few points cut off.

Sens fan coming in peace here!

The way I saw the hit, I PERSONALLY don't feel it warrants a suspension... A $2500 fine and leave it at that...

BUT, to slap Torts with a $20k fine for, effectively, telling the truth is absolute bull.

Basically proves that the NHL really are bias towards the Penguins, it's an absolute joke...

Should you face Pittsburgh in the playoffs, please, please destroy Cindy, and Geno... Then we can watch them whine (as always) and Torts can go apesh!t crazy on them again (Course, he'll get fined but the entertainment value Torts brings is just priceless).

Good luck in the Playoffs guys!
