NHL Entry Draft

How is the draft shaping up from a swedish perpective? weak/solid/good?

Wich players are "locks" to be selected? Lists are welcome

As for the first round, I think we can expect something like this:

Filip Forsberg - 3-5
Sebastian Collberg - 10-15
Pontus Åberg - 15-20
Ludvig Byström - 20-35

Wild cards:

Dansk and Lindholm.

So, probably worse than 2011 and 2009 but still a very good draft in terms of top talent.

Åberg havnt done much since the injury after WJC. I think he will drop, late 1st or maybe even early 2nd.

True, but Djurgården have not scored much neither, like only one goal in six of the last eight games I think?

Åberg with a goal today again, GWG in shoot-out. He is a great penalty shooter

I think Emil Lundberg is the best forward after the 3 bergs in the first round, Erik Thorell should also be drafted in the later rounds.

Personally I think Dansk is a first round talent, but him going there totally depends on if a team is willing take a goaltender with the first pick.

H.Lindholm feels like a raw talent, a team without much hurry looking for big potential should probably give him a long look.

Good list! I think u-18wjc will have some influence on how many swedes are drafted and which ones. There might be some more goalies drafted, like for example Modos Linus Ullmark. One player I always liked is Leksands big center Fredrik Händemark, he is overaged, but just by a month.

You don't think the sens will take him?
They are slated to either pick between 18th and 24th, and I think he is the only forward they can realistically take, that they would have any interest in.

What does anyone think of Oskar Norlov? Any chance to get drafted? Posted some solid numbers at Rogle last year and is posting very decent numbers this year although in a limited amount of games.

Any of you in Sweden have any updated scouting reports of Forsberg and Collberg?

From eliteprospects:

Quote:
Collberg is very skilled forward with great wheels. Doesn't shy away from the high-traffic areas and knows where to go to score goals. Initiates contact with defensemen and has excellent one-on-one moves. Posesses an elite wristshot, which he can release in a hurry with great accuracy and velocity.
Needs to add more bulk to withstand the physical game at the men's level. Lacks ideal frame.

First rounder are Forsberg, Collberg and Åberg. Providing a good or atleast decent WJC-18 for Lindholm and Byström -- they'll be gone in the first too.

Dansk has a legitimate shot at the first round, but goalies are tricky as hell to evaluate and project at this age.
