Ahahaha no doubt. My boss asked me to drive from Nisku to the west end this morning to pick up a cheque and I was like **** no. He's in Calgary right now and he was like well the weather can't be that bad. I'm like it's at the heart of the storm it's pretty bad right now, mainly due to visibility. This was around 8am.
They should have shutdown Weeds before it started.
From terrible casting to unbelievable protagonist I shutdown that show after say 6 episodes.
Really its almost impossible to screw up a network program about "Weed" in "War on drugs" conservative America. Its got automatic subversive appeal to it and people would automatically watch anything remotely about that topic just for the out of the box appeal.
That said a kindergarden student could write more appealing scripts and character development on the subject. Lamest series I've seen on TV. Hopeless acting.
No the writing I thought was pretty good for the first 2 or 3 seasons. Then when they introduced the Mexican Mafia the show just got way too serious for what it was and thus really killed itself.

I actually liked Mary Louise Parker before this series. I find her literall unwatchable at this point.
The show had an OK start. To anybody that knows anything about the topic of the show it just jumps the shark from the word go. I liked Elizabeth Perkins in this show in the first season. All the other characters did nothing for me.
I think this kind of program works for the viewer thats entirely naive to anything even remotely connected with the topic. jmo
Just as a last thought consider what a real actress like Frances McDormand would do in a role like this.

I found it to be entertaining simply for it's over the top humor and portrayal of said topic. ie. Soccer mom surviving post husbands death by selling marijuana.

Pretty much what I said in my first post. Its a guaranteed win concept for staid, republican, "war on drugs" conservative America.
Unfortunately what with the execution of the series and plot and cast the premise is about as good as it ever gets. I can never quite figure if its going for drama, comedy, or what. Its stated to be comedy but I don't think I've laughed at an episode.
Good that you managed to like it though. Like anything a lot of programming moves people or not.
Try Portlandia for some more interesting satire. Although its acquired taste.

Anyway enough on that.
But again though it ran its course on me. I don't think the problem was casting the wrong characters rather than just not using the characters to their full potential.
As for Portlandia I've good things, never seen it though.
Wow Romero is laying a big ****ing egg on opening day. If the Jays are going to do something this year and this is what their ace gives them on opening day, then I might as well save myself 161 games of disappointment.
However they always seem to start the year playing really well so who knows, maybe this will work out in the long run.
disappointing start for the Jays. not sure about Romero as the ace of the staff, hes good but still strikes me as a guy who should be in the 2/3 hole on a good-to-really-good team. pitching pitching pitching. the Jays got better depth this season especially in the infield with a few young studs ready to make their mark in the bigs but I think they're prospect pool for pitchers is lacking and that Drabek kid better show something this season, he was getting a lot of hype coming to Toronto.
That Masterson kid just pitched a masterful game for the Indians. Nigh unhittable. The Indians skipper made a calculated error by trotting his closer out there after an effort like that from his starter. He should have let Masterson finish it.

I must admit, Zaun said it best. Romero didn't pitch his best baseball in the 2nd inning. But he didn't blow up and he held his cool and held he Indians at bay for the next 3 innings. He led by example and it really rubbed off on the rest of the team. More or less a lucky win, but still shows that this team has a deep bullpen that's ready to battle in long games. If they get the run support this team could make some noise.
I agree with Moonlapse though, they ran into a pitcher that pitched a wicked game. The Jays need to learn how to manufacture runs against pitching performances like that.
What the Jays need is a veteran innings eater. A guy like Wandy Rodruiguez(sp?) from the Astros would be ideal for that team.
A guy like Morrow or Romero will be prone to make mistakes due to their youth and inexperience. A guy who can eat innings and pitch consistently would really solidify their rotation.

not as good as the kendrick perkins dunk but still beautiful none the less. the guy is a human highlight reel. **** the lakers and Gasol is soft, was pleased to him get tossed around like that in the paint a bit. I think the 3 most intimidating players in the NBA are Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin and probably still Kobe Bryant, maybe D. Rose. Anyways yes, those were things of beauty. I <3 Blake Griffin.
Hey Philly85, Blake Griffin dunked on yer life again! Twice!
Oh me, oh my!
What a consistently over the top bozo that announcer is. "Me oh Wow, he dunked the ball, the fans can't still believe it."
I don't think I could watch that crap even with the volume turned off.
ps Holy crap is Waterpolo boring. We drove by the Kinsmen today and watched some of the Olympic qualifying. I don't know if theres a lamer Olympic sport that Edmonton could've won the Olympic qualifying rights to. I guess we got outbid on handball, synchronized swimming, javelin throw, 20lb cat toss, and triple jump. Maybe they could use an announcer like above to liven things up.
I think the biggest physical risk in Waterpolo must be falling asleep and drowning..Canada is playing somebody right now. Somebody is winning. We seriously couldn't stick around any longer. My snoring woulda been disruptive. Plus this is a sport where the refs blow the whistle every 3.5secs for some unknown reason and it kept waking me up.

If the Jays can get above average major league starting pitching, their offense could carry them into the playoffs.
Their batting lineup is incredibly deep.

Never particularly liked his shtick either. I find almost anything else funnier.
Whatever comedy school guys like Will Ferrel and John Goodman went to I never quite got. Just seems like really "base" humor and something I might watch if it happens to be on but usually bored with it.
SNL has had such better graduates. Ferrel really overrated. Probably the best thing he ever did was the SNL BOC "Don't Fear the Reaper" skit. That was great.
I never liked many of his movies. He was funny on SNL and is a hilarious guy during interviews. But when i saw the movie the other guys i thought yes, finally a parody of buddy cop movies done the right way.

Haters gonna hate.
Atleast you got your comment in. Kinda saw that coming once I saw the Blake Griffin clips.
As for the Water Polo, you have no idea what goes on underwater. I'd say try to play the sport before you trash it. That's if you can swim though.
Griffin, as much of a beast as he is in the paint, I would not say he is one of the most intimidating players in the NBA. I would rank Durant ahead of Griffin in terms of being "intimating".

Are we talking about physically intimidating? Because Durant isn't.
