#82 - 04.07.2012 | Washington Capitals @ New York Rangers | 6:30 PM - NBC SPORTS
THE MATCHUP
GAME #82
April 7th, 2012
@
(41-32-8) ____________ (51-23-7)
6:30 PM ET
MADISON SQUARE GARDEN - NYC, NY
NBC SPORTS
QUOTES TO NOTE
I’m not an idiot, we didn’t have the same drive as if we needed to win the game. We tried. We tried to build that emotion. We had chances to tie it.
- Brad Richards
I don’t think our start was very good. We were sluggish. They came out hard.
We weren’t playing badly, but we had a couple of missed coverages. There was a lot on the line for them.
- Marc Staal
Absolutely, it’s a cheap, dirty hit. I wonder what would happen if we did it to their two whining stars over there, I wonder what would happen!?
So I’m anxious to see what happens with the league with this. Just no respect among players, none. It’s sickening.
- John Tortorella

Lose the game, hope Florida loses, hope Vancouver loses, win the trophy and face Florida in the first round.

Could it be because of the blueshirts off our back ceremony?

President's Trophy, 40 wins for Hank, and 30 goals for the Captain.
Let's do it.

the game actually starts at 10, but they're showing a three and a half hour long video of Crosby's childhood.

Makes it easier for NBC Sports to show 3 games. Pitt v. Philly, Us vs Wsh, LA vs SJ.

2 things about that. 1) The ceremony is different now it seems. It used to be that every player was called on the ice and gave a signed jersey to a fan. Now they all come down and no one is called individually. So I don't think it should take too much time. I used to look forward to it and now I HATE it, I'm so mad. 2) Why did it change, anyone know?

I've posted "the perfect scenario" a few times, but now I'll post every scenario:
1. We lose to Washington
2. Vancouver loses to Edmonton
3. Florida loses to Carolina in regulation
If all of that happens, we win the Presidents' Trophy and face Florida in the first round. Now let's explore another scenario:
1. We lose to Washington
2. Vancouver loses to Edmonton
3. Florida gains a point vs. Carolina
4. Ottawa loses to New Jersey in regulation
If all that happens, we win the Presidents' Trophy and face Ottawa in the first round.
If we beat Washington, we win the Presidents' Trophy no matter what Vancouver does and we face Washington in the first round.

Check this out guys!!!!!!! I'm not sure what to make of it. Are they too scared of a little trash talk, just like their players?
