pretty sure the most realistic trade proposal that came up on HF that was actually made in real like was the Jeff Carter for Jakub Voracek+1st rounder

to NYI:
Jay Bouwmeester
1st in 2012

to CGY:
1st in 2012
No thanks.

1.Jaybo has a ntc and won't waive it for the nyi.
2.Jaybo is not worth $6.6m per. He'd be the highest paid isles by over $2m.
Isles need better bang for thier limited bucks.
3.He is a ufa in 2 yrs.Snow's trade demand at the last two drafts, was for a high end youngster, several yrs from unrestricted free agency.

Also,I' m not sure Snow is a big enough Schenn fan,to package Bailey and a high 2nd for Schenn.
As a leaf fan bailey isn't enough of an upgrade to move schenn out for me.

for Christ sake do you just like to argue? I know what you think, we know you undervalue Bouwmeester and overvalue anything to do with the Islanders. But other Isles fans (you do know there is more than you right?) thought it was good value.

The frustrating part is that fans on message boards, have been calling for Bailey to be moved to wing since last season. Now,with only several weeks in the season,Cappy makes the move and gets the type of play the team needed early in the season.

No way to tell if Bailey's turning the corner or just teasing fans

There are plenty of nyi posters on the nyi boards, who responded to the Jaybo proposal with comments about how he's never lived up to his potental, asking what's happened to him since leaving FL.,posters saying he's not worth his salary, how they'd only want him if he came cheaply.

Btw,newsflash,Snow's opinion and trade demands matter. Not the opinions of armchair gms/armchair scouts

Gunnarsson + prospect for Colin Wilson, pending of course that the leafs have signed a replacement in FA.

I would incinerate every piece of CBJ merchandise I have, then form my own counter-protesting group, if either one of these happened. That's after going on a monthlong bender.

so youre saying that garth should trade down --in the neighborhood of-- ten draft spots for a guy that meets only ONE aspect of his requirements for trading that pick?

to me, that doesnt sound very smart on his part my man....

then he can keep his pick, because he he won't move down about 7 spots for a #1 defenseman he is off his rocker.

But I guess I shouldn't have included it as realistic because we all know no one with a choice of where they go will waive to join the Islanders

GEE........do you think thats why garth is trying to build his team WITHOUT giving up top picks?
i really doubt that garth is the only general manager that has certain requirements for his first round pick.

any and every hockey fan knows that top free agents wont sign on the island, just as players with clauses wont waive their clauses for long island.

do you really think you just provided the hockey fans of the world with anything we didnt already know?

Fair to me.

Habs 2nd (33rd overall) +Nashville's 2nd/Montreal's 3rd for a late first rounder ?

Both Oiler fans and Duck fans were begging for a Foster-Sutton trade, and we got one about 2 months after it was proposed.
