Sigh. If Luongo is playing well people have no issue accepting this. If he isn't, people will call him out, just as we did during the SCF where he was the biggest factor in our loss to Boston.
It's nothing personal, nor it is unfair. It's an objective assessment of the situation. You start screeching hysterically whenever anyone is even slightly critical of Luongo, and it's getting tiresome.
i think its pathetic you guys keep spewing that garbage. so luongo gets us 3 shutouts,so thats 3 of the 4 required wins, and the team doesnt even know how to score any goals, and yet we are blaming luongo? we have more things to be nervous about than luongo, like scoring maybe? like the sedins not disappearing, like ryan kesler playing more than one round, or kevin bieksa not falling into full retard mode.

Is it not possible to cast blame at a number of areas, including Luongo? He had some miserable games and they are worthy of mention...just as the Sedins had a very uneven playoffs, the same can be said about almost everyone on the team. Just because people as being critical of Luongo, in a Luongo based thread doesn't mean they don't have issues with other areas of the team, or other players....this is where to discuss Luongo, good or bad. Not all the other issues this team has.

so whats your problem? i was replying to someone who said luongo was the biggest factor in the loss, i countered with my opinion that that idea is ridiculous and he should not be the top of our worries as there are other glaring problems ahead. where did i mention that he should get no blame at all? im saying he did the most yet all the blame is being put on him and everyone is gettig away scott free. doesnt make sense.
and i don't know what your deal is with this whole this is a luongo thread. what do you expect me to say, no man we have bigger problems to worry about than luongo such as [click this link here because we are outside the luongo discussion boundaries].

You sound mad...are you mad?
I have no problem, you can say whatever your little heart desires. Just don't be surprised that people are critical of Luongo in a Luongo specific thread when he has a ****** game, it's going to happen. It just doesn't mean they are blind to other issues this team has.

no im not mad. im not saying dont be critical of him when it is justified. if he had said luongo was a factor in our loss, sure i'd agree to that, but not when people say he is the only factor, or the biggest factor. cmon, you read the other threads, you know whats going on.

I agree with you, he wasn't the "biggest" factor in the losses...opinions will vary on that though. He doesn't deserve the outright bashing he gets from some posters, but he doesn't always do enough to take away ammunition from his detractors. Some detractors will NEVER be won over, no matter what he does, even win a cup.
Did he ever. Congrats on your 4th shutout of the season!
Absolutely amazing game for Luongo. One of the only players to show up (Booth had a strong effort IMO). If not for Luongo we probably get shelled this game.

I told ya so. I was right all along!
So today while I was at work, my boss and I were talking about Lou and Schneider and how each of them handle the media. Schneider obviously tries to say the right things and in return he is loved by the fans, but Luongo's emotions can run high so he doesn't always handle the pressure in the best way possible.
Getting on track here, my boss was mentioning about how when Luongo first came to the Canucks and was playing like an elite goaltender, he was throwing his teammates under the bus for losing. I didn't follow hockey as closely back then (I was more of a football fan because my Seahawks were doing awesome and the Canucks were okay, but now that it is the opposite I don't follow football as much and I'm really into hockey) so I just wanted to hear what the truth is to this. If it is true that Lou actually did call out his teammates back then, I would find myself to be very less sympathetic for him for the bashing he receives from media today.
it's quite evident from his interactions with his teammates that Luongo does not have the greatest relationship with them. Sure there's respect but the full comradary doesn't seem like its there as much as it is with Schneider.

It is definitely true that he has blamed his teammates many times in the past for losses to games. Not sure if he did it when he first came here, but from what I have seen what your boss said may be true.
I remember in then 2010 playoffs when we lost to Chicago, he literally blamed every loss on his teammates, saying things like "well it was pretty much turnovers the whole game" to "we lost our composure again", etc and he was the captain of the team so...

Is that why his teammates said that he's one the funniest guys in the room and is always the one that's making the atmosphere in the room more relaxed? I love these fans that seem to know more than the players that are actually there.
I'm not sure if he threw his teammates under the bus like some claim. That's a little hyperbolic. I definitely would say that in 2010, after the Chicago meltdown, I felt he could have been more reserved in some of his comments.
Let's just say that Schneider is less likely to say something inflammatory.

Schneider is the backup — he has no business saying anything right now. We'll see what he says and does when he actually is the starter.
