Throw in traffic. Going there is a pain, especially when game traffic mixes with rush hour.
I should add it is far compared to everything else. It is the opposite of centrally located.
If it was where the Hard Rock is, it would be much much better, but that doesn't solve the traffic issue. Probably makes it worse.

When is it not a pain in the ass to go to a game
anywhere during rush hour? And Fort Lauderdale, which I'm sure is one of the main places they'd hope to draw fans from, is not far away. It's like 12-15 miles.
Having a team in south Florida isn't a problem; the Lightning are proof of that (although that's more central Florida). The problem is that the Panthers have historically sucked. Looking back on their attendance, etc. over the years and making it seem like it's that way because of their location is disingenuous and incorrect.
