Damn solid words from sid there. Love to see that side of him, he's defying his ordinary robot programming.

Haha.... that would be pretty funny. He has some experience in that area (Tampa) but the Panthers would be worse. Say what you want about Ranger fans, anybody who cares about and works in hockey would rather do it at MSG than S. Florida.

In South Florida his goofy comments would fall on deaf ears. Or at least uninterested ones. In New York, they are gas on the fire of that media there.

NBC is guilty for pushing a lot of the attacks against the Pens and they were the ones that portrayed Matt Cooke as essentially the devil. Guess the Pens are getting their Tebow treatment.

Everyone's got a comment.

My AHL's parent team is the Panthers and I could not be happier. I'm sorry, but bringing them up in a thread about Torts & the Rangers just seems petty.

Throw in traffic. Going there is a pain, especially when game traffic mixes with rush hour.

I should add it is far compared to everything else. It is the opposite of centrally located.

If it was where the Hard Rock is, it would be much much better, but that doesn't solve the traffic issue. Probably makes it worse.
When is it not a pain in the ass to go to a game anywhere during rush hour? And Fort Lauderdale, which I'm sure is one of the main places they'd hope to draw fans from, is not far away. It's like 12-15 miles.

Having a team in south Florida isn't a problem; the Lightning are proof of that (although that's more central Florida). The problem is that the Panthers have historically sucked. Looking back on their attendance, etc. over the years and making it seem like it's that way because of their location is disingenuous and incorrect.

Those Rangers fans who are applauding Torts's attack on the Pens fanbase (or any fanbase really) and whining about his fine are such hypocrites.

I wonder how they'd have felt if an opposing coach attacked their organization and specifically the tandem of Gretzky and Messier back in 1996-97 for no reason?

$10 says had that ever happened...they'd still be steaming over that nowdays.

This is going down hill as of late. Torts got fined for his dumb move... like it or not. We are going to move on here.
