Hell yea, psyched for baseball. My expectations are the lowest they've been in a long time for the Rockies, but I'll still follow the team and go to games when I can. Coors Field is a great venue. If we ever get the chance to host a Winter Classic, that's where it should be played (as opposed to that bland pile of glass and metal on Federal).
They added a bunch of bum veterans and right now the Rockies look like they are in a lot of trouble as a franchise. Old roster, limited spending power, and very few impact prospects in the system.
Since my favorite MLB team the Montreal Expos are no longer in existence for many years I have decided this year that I need a new MLB team to root for. I usually just root against the yankees, red sox, cubs, dodgers, etc. and have narrowed down my choices to the marlins, dbacks, angels, and nats.
My mom's friend was the daughter of john mchale who owned the expos a long time ago so I used to get free expos stuff all the time.
marlins:
I usually like miami teams and I like their new colors and uniforms, but I would have to fly to see them play home games or drive to az or socal to watch them play.
nats:
Used to be the expos. I would hate to travel to DC to see them play so I would have to go see them on the road. They also have a las vegas kid bryce harper who is supposedly the next arod or better. Not a fan of their logo and uniforms.
dbacks:
I have gone to several dbacks games over the years whenever my old high school or college teammates come up and want to watch a major league game. Cool logo and colors.
angels:
I have also gone to angels games and the drive is even easier than the drive to phx. Lots of babes and stuff to do in the area if I stay there for a day or two. they have a pretty good team too and they have the rally monkey. Biggest negative is that they have the name los angeles tied to them. When they were the anaheim angels I didn't mind supporting them more. I have a hatred of everything LA especially the lakers.

Why would I expect anything else?
Our drafting the past few years has been miserable

The rockies have never been able to draft, they are a terrible organization. I hope house gets cleaned out real soon. Of course, I've been hoping that for the last decade.

The worst part about Reynolds is that nobody even thought he was that good. He was a middle of the first talent taken because they thought they could sign him.

Especially since everyone thought Longoria was going to either go to the Rockies or Royals... except both teams totally screwed the pooch with Hochevar and Reynolds.
We should just listen to Rays' scouts. They had Lincecum picked out before Longoria wasn't drafted...

It's always been like that though. The best players didn't always go first. At least teams are starting to put more money into the drafts lately.
Perfect situation for him - grab him in the second round and develop him into the QB of the future. The kid has the strongest arm in the draft (stronger than Luck) and is huge. Just a total raw talent that's shown promise but needs 2-3 years. He's just been plagued by bad decision making sometimes which is his biggest knock. He can overcome that by learning on the sidelines and getting tutored by possibly the most cerebral NFL QB of all time.
He would be so incredibly perfect for this franchise that it's too good to be true that they would take him. But they need to!

He reminds me of dan mcguire. Same build and same stiffness in the pocket with a bazooka strapped to his right arm. I don't know if he's worth taking in the 2nd. I'd probably try to get him in the 4th or later. With a 2nd round pick you still need to go after a future sure fire decent starter. Projects should go 3rd or 4th round at best imho, but usually will get picked in rounds 5 to 7. Both qbs out of asu and ua are decent projects that could pan out.

Osweiler would be a huge mistake. I've seen that kid play live and on TV enough, he just doesn't have the mental makeup to be a NFL QB. He will only be in the NFL a few years and that will only be because he is 6'8". He has a bad delivery and he couldn't read college defenses, there is no way he will be able to read NFL defenses. He isn't even the best QB coming out of the state of Arizona this year. The Broncos shouldn't pick a QB, but if they have to, they need to wait until the 5th or 6th round. There are just too many holes on the team.
That 4th error on them was hilarious Had EY JR, but throw it into the CF. I do think EY would have made it to 3rd base when Castro throw it to 2nd though.
I tried to get into baseball last year as a way to get through the off-season (and Rockies games are fun and cheap). I stopped caring a quarter the way through the season.
I'm trying again this year. We'll see how far I get.

Last year was one of the worst in about the last 5 years - I stopped watching em too. Give it another chance. But don't expect amazing things from the Rox. I think they'll be decent and if they do better it will be exciting.

Yep. One of my best friends is as big a Rockies fan as I am with the Avs. He told me to try again lol.
Still have my Tulo shirt from last year (still very fresh, rarely wear it lol). Ready for another mediocre season.
This year, though, my job is 10 hours of driving. So listening to that much sports radio I'll be able to "get" it a bit more.

Where do you drive? Just curious - I do a hell of a lot of driving too in Western CO and Wyoming. The nice thing is 850 KOA is pretty good across this whole state. And I'm sure you already know about it, but if you have Iheart or any app like that it really helps. I travel to REALLY remote places (where gas plants and gas rigs are) and I can only take so much Rush Limbaugh or any other political pundit on AM radio before I just want to scream.
