He did ok while he was up with the Leafs and going down to the Marlies, he will be in their Calder Cup run.

His experience with the big club and the additional time in the AHL play-offs, will help him progress and let him know where he has to be, to make the Leafs and let the Leafs Brass and Carlyle know, what he can do too.

We haven't seen the last of him, he will be back but just needs more time to develop.

With him back and the rest back, the Marlies lines up looks pretty damn good.

Forward crop...

Zigomanis, Hamilton, Mueller, Scott, D'Amigo, Kadri, Ashton, Colborne, Deschamps, Dupuis, Kadri, Frattin,

On the D...

Gardiner, Holzer, Gysbers, Blacker, Mikus, Finger.

Scrivens/Oduya/Rynnas in net.

It's our Calder to lose.

Lol, this statement is completely false. The guy was here so he can get some taste and experience from the NHL and he was playing mostly on the fourt line and given the role of providing some stable defense and grit, if u are going to expected much offense out of him in that situation then you are obviously going to be dissapointed plus this was his first call-up, cut the kid some slack, he did well for his role and given the minimum ice-time.

Sometime, I think Leafs nations expected too much out of most youngster with potential in such a short time. People need to tone down their expectations a little.

With TWO Kadri's, how can we lose?

In 2 years he will be a great 3rd liner. But he has the potential to be a 2nd and maybe 1st line guy. He has the strength and is awesome along the boards. Just has to get his offense going.

PWF's take longer to develop. Kid will be a 3rd liner at least imho. Good prospect.

Not to mention, there were a number of players with the Marlies who deserved a good look ahead of Ashton, such as Mueller, Kadri, D'Amigo, and Hamilton. Heck, even Scott deserves a look at this point.

The Leafs management just wanted to see their new toy and didn't bother to monitor him with the Marlies first to see if he was ready.

Again, awful call-up.
I agree there may have been more deserving recalls but they just acquired the player. I suspect they really just wanted to get a good read on the player. Not sure why it took 15 games. I suspect this acquisition was somebody's baby.

Calling him up burned one of the 4 callups allowed, so we didn't want to waste until some bodies were healthy.

Agreed. I think a Mueller or Hamilton are more ready than he is. He is only 20 or 21 so I put him in the same class as D'Amigo. another year of AHL
