Phoenix three years running

So It's a possibility (a pretty decent one) that the Wings will play the Yotes in round one for the third year in a row.
I see this as favourable when compared to the Sharks or Preds.
Thoughts?

I'm fine with it...as you said...it beats the other matchups. Plus...we've been through it twice so we know exactly what to expect...I'll gladly take that matchup!

For this to happen, Phoenix needs 1 point tomorow @ Minny, and Chicago needs to win against you guys in regulation or OT.

God no!

I'd rather the Wings lose to Nashville or maybe even beat them than have to watch Doan take runs at our players again.

hawks can only pass the wings with a regulation win. an ot win will give the wings 1 point and keep them ahead of the hawks

It definitely would be a good "Plan B" if we can't get 4th. But being the 6th seed just screams long term trouble. Not a fan of it.

looks like the Wings just might "earn" a match-up against the weakest team in the Western Playoffs after-all

go Chicago!

We can't get 4th anyway.

Wings win today in any form, Nashville loses in regulation.

IMO it doesn't really matter....if the Wings can't beat Nashville or San Jose, they can't stand a chance of winning the cup. If they can beat those teams, maybe they can beat Vancouver and/or St. Louis. I think playing Nashville would be a sink or swim scenario which would either see them elevate their level of play for a long run, or result in an early and inevitable exit. I'm kinda ok with that....and I'm hopeful they can still swim.

The only chance the Wings have of sniffing the second round is if they face Phoenix in the first.
