Call me naive, but I have a hard time believing this isn;t more widespread (without financial incentive, perhaps).
It's naive to think Williams' brand of rhetoric/brutal gameplan is exclusive to him. Everyone's just jumping on board because the evidence is so overwhelming and available. It's almost a 180 from how the league handled the NE cheating scandal. That got mostly swept under the rug and dealt with internally and the league got blasted for it. Now this, a much bigger blemish on the face of football, comes to light and they want to show publicly that they're coming down as hard as possible.
Again, for the record, I think this is despicable and Williams career should probably be over. (And he probably shouldn't be allowed to coach little league...) BUT I refuse to get all worked up and indignant over something that just can't be new, especially with how selective the bulk of the media is in its coverage

Wait a minute. Let me get this straight.
You refuse to be upset over this because it's not new?
What the ****? So when would you get upset?
There is a line between ulra competitive and straight up wanting to PURPOSEFULLY DO REPEATED DAMAGE TO A PLAYERS HEAD AND LEGS/KNEES. Gregg Williams crossed it, pissed on the line then went running on past it.
The difference between him and other teams/guys that might do the exact same thing is that there is explicit proof here. I can't get upset at a team/coach when I don't know who they are. But if I did and there was similar proof, I would be just as "upset".

I never said I wasn't upset. I think it's a horrible blemish on the league and it needs to be dealt with swiftly and strongly. I said (or at least meant, maybe I phrased poorly) I'm not surprised and I'm not going to get all bent out of shape solely at Gregg Williams
We agree that the publicity of this is what allows people to be indignant and have that moral outrage. I just think it's ridiculous that the Saints and Williams are the only one's garnering scorn when there already are public (although admittedly not on this scale) examples of players and coaches running their mouths about targeting injured players or wanting to hurt someone on the field.
Williams shouldn't be allowed to coach again. Payton needs to pay for his part in all of this and the rest of the NFL better ****ing well hope that they don't get caught or investigated. Hopefully the intense punishments handed down prevent the sort of system the Saints had in place from propagating/flourishing somewhere else
Buffalobills.com has learned that a pair of players widely forecast as first round picks and two other top prospects are making such visits to One Bills Drive today. Alabama RB Trent Richardson and Ohio State OT Mike Adams are the headliners with Syracuse DL Chandler Jones and Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson also visiting.

thanks for the clarification. I definitely hope they don't just use the saints and Williams especially as fall boys until it blows over. The punishment handed out indicates that is not likely, but the NFL Jay still just a business interested in perception more so tHan reality.
have to do your due dilligence. Not to mention IF he falls (unlikely), they now can make it appear to teams below them that they like him and can drive the trade price up
Welcome, primarily-hockey-fan posters! Pull up a chair to a team that has had a ballsy offseason and has tons of promise on paper! This should all be veeeeeeeeeeeeeery familiar to you.
11. and. 5.
Mark it in your books, and yes OF COURSE I'm being conservative but I'm a slave to tradition
Has anyone else looked at our projected schedule yet?
We play the AFC South (Houston, Tennessee, Jacksonville & Colts) and NFC West (Seattle, Arizona, San Francisco & St. Louis). We also play the Browns and the Chiefs, along with the obvious six divisional games.

That's a cakewalk.
You never know which teams are going to come out of nowhere to shock people. And let's be real, some of those teams would still look at the Bills as a cakewalk, Mario Williams or not.
(And it's not a projected schedule, it is the opponent list.)
I'm...cautiously optimistic. There are still holes on this team that worry me, most glaring of which is LT.

Is it just me, or do we play the jaguars literally every year somehow? I honestly can't remember the last season we didn't play them.

NFL scheduling is fairly consistent, we play that division once per four years. I'm guessing we and Jacksonville keep finishing in the same place in our respective divisions (usually last lol) since that determines two more of our games.
I think this year my official bills record prediction is 0-16. Before anybody jumps down my throat about it let me explain. My predictions about teams are ALWAYS wrong, so if I predict the worst then it won't come true. XD
The Buffalo Bills can go on several different directions with the No. 10 overall pick in this month's NFL draft. The team's website reported Thursday that the Bills hosted a pair of first-round prospects in USC left tackle Matt Kalil, and Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick.
Kalil will likely be off the board, although if he slips past the Vikings (which would dumbfound me) you gotta think he'll fall to 5 since the Browns are set with Thomas, and the Bucs would have to snatch him there. So if the Bills want him, they'd have to trade up to 3 or 4. But it would almost certainly be worth it IMO.
Kirkpatrick...there's a need at CB, so no issues whatsoever with that.

*How are the Bills last in the division but Miami picks ahead of them???*
Breaking down the schedule:
Home Games:
Miami
NY Jets
New England
Arizona
St. Louis
Kansas City
Jacksonville
Indy
Away:
Miami
NY Jets
New England
Seattle
Cleveland
Tennessee
San Fran
Houston
I believe this is the breakdown if memory serves me correctly. That is a very difficult away schedule. The Bills could easily go 1-7 or 2-6 and vice-versa at home.
I see the Bills as a 7-9 win team. Maybe they if they're lucky they win 10.
I'd rather go with Martin than Reiff but that's just me. I was impressed with Martin when I watched Stanford and have questions about Reiff's ability to be a left tackle in the pros. Most think Reiff is a safe projection who can start right away but I'm not of that opinion
If Minnesota trades that pick to a team going after Tannehill, Kalil will slip past the Browns at #4 (who already are set at LT with Thomas) and the Bucs would almost assuredly take Kalil at 5.
Which means the real question is...what would it take to move to #4 where the Browns are drafting? Would the Browns entertain dropping to 10, where Richardson *might* still be there (tough to see the other top 10 teams taking a RB, then again we took Spiller when we didn't need to...but a team might try and trade up to get him in front our the #10) and Blackmon will certainly be gone?
