Sounds good to me. Let them rest and get to 100% (hopefully).

I thought Larsson played very well today. A few excellent breakout passes, and good defence for the most part.

Why was Volch scratched? Were they playing it safe with his nagging lower body injury?

He has the flu.

Coincidentally I said pre-game that I didn't really want him playing anyway. Nothing for us to lose or gain, and Volch is a balls to the wall player playing against his former team.

Just not worth it for him to play.

Ok, that's good. I'm sure he'll be back from that by the time the playoffs start.

Yup, especially considering that nothing was wrong with him.

A win vs Ottawa is always good for the Devils. Gratz on a good win to close out the regular season today.

What a great season from Patty. 10th in the league in scoring ahead of guys like Hossa, St Louis, Gaborik, etc. At age 35 no less. Incredible player to watch.

I'm very impressed with Patty's performance considering his age. Maybe it's the presence of Sykora, or the offensive depth we have this year, but he really looked rejuvenated.

Kovy had a nice redemptive season and got back to what is expected of him in terms of production. But I'm even more impressed with the great strides he made defensively this year, and his work on the league record PK. He's a two-way force now.

Its cool looking at stats on NHL.com and seeing 5 Devils in the top 10 in SHP. No other team has more than one in the top 10; and other team has more than 2 in the top 20.

Last time someone other than Martin Brodeur started a playoff game for Devils -- Game 6 of 1994 ECSF at Boston Garden 5-11-94 (Terreri).
Wow. That just sums up the man's career beautifully.
