SOLI'S SHORTSIDE

- I suppose the big storyline going into tonight will be dependent on how Montreal fares tonight. If they pick up any sort of point, the Oilers will have locked up 29th in the league and draft no later then 3rd OV. If Montreal loses, only an Oilers victory will see them move to 28th in the final standings.

- The other big storyline of course is the game itself. The Oilers close out the season with the final meeting vs. the playoff bound Canucks. I hope for a chippy affair; that we don't go with a whimper into the night and set out to play a style that the Canucks would rather avoid. I type this out and realize how ludicrous it sounds. I hope Eager and Hordichuk have their game faces on.

I think over the last few games he's played, Hordichuk has really shown his ability as our 13th forward. I think he never really felt comfortable until later in the season. I also hope tonight is the last game that Belanger, Peckham, Omark and Eager are a part of the Oilers.

I agree on the Hordichuk assessment. He has really done well lately, imo. As for Belanger, I'd still consider giving him another chance next season. We finally have a faceoff specialist and someone who is good for PK. There's no reason he should play on the PP, however. I just wish we'd see more consistent lines next season so that each line can have a chance to develop some sort of chemistry before they're shuffled again.

We can displace the Canucks from 1st place if the Blues win and we win. Lets make it happen!

Go tabs go! Come on Eberle, light em up! We want two more goals by Hartikainen, too! Then he can go back down to the AHL and tear things up in the playoffs!

Is it too much to ask for 2+ points from each Nuge and Ebs?

That's all I want.

Last game of the year...

and then draft lottery, draft, free agent frenzy, rookie development camp, rookie camp, and finally main camp... such is the life of an Oiler fan.

Next year, next year

Yes.

But that's not going to happen. I'm prepared for a slaughter, like a 5 or 6 goal loss.

I hope someone gets revenge on either Edler or Bieksa for their dirty hits on Hall earlier in the year.

the Canucks will be doing us a favor by beating us tonight.

I hope the game is competitive and filled with hits, fights and goals.

If Khabby starts, well I probably have some paint I'll watch dry.

As much as people say no athletes tank. We're going into this game knowing the outcome of the Montreal game. If they lose, our management would have to be absolutely idiotic to win this game. If we lose trying, meh. But if we win a meaningless game at the end of the year that affects our draft position...

Beating Vancouver for me is more important than some draft positioning.

Does anyone else think with it being clear that Dubs is the #1 next year (or backup if we get a starter somewhere), that Bulin might be hanging the pads up after tonight?
