Touche. I almost mentioned that too. But I think our defense is good enough that Chicago won't be able to make it through a series with us based on their offense alone. And you gotta admit, having a big edge in goal = having a big edge in the series.
Whoever we play, our fans better have bought up most of the tickets already. I do NOT want to see tons of CHI or DET fans in our building. Probably the uncertainty of the matchups will have prevented them from buying any tickets until after the game today.

And because there won't be a ton of people able to make a short notice trip. If we have a weekend game it's possible they could end up with a decent number of fans here but we'll be alright.
I think I want Chicago to win this one so we can just go ahead and lock up the 4 seed. I want no part of the 5. Plus it would be nice to finally finish ahead of Detroit.
chicago is playing better hockey right now.... we may just get them. those wanting to avoid to detroit, be careful what you wish for... you just may get what you wish for. a hot chicago team with their captain toews coming back...
I don't want to play either of these teams...but you have to beat somebody in the first round. We can certainly beat either, and either can certainly beat us.

Chicago has won two of their last six. Toews may be back next week, may not be. Just Wednesday we were seeing the Wings described as an "elite" and "experienced" team that would bounce us. Today it seems the Hawks are the better team .... for now. It looked like the Blues were the better team against the Wings on Wednesday as well.
It's going to be a dogfight no matter what. Us/Wings. Us/Hawks. Pac Div Champ/Wings. Pac Div Champ/Hawks.
chicago is playing good hockey right now the past 15-20 games or so.. detroit will always be an elite, experienced team until they falter.. st louis is struggling but they play hockey suited for the playoffs..
toews may come back. they said "could".. I just assume its a yes for worst case if we get chicago. either way, every series in the west will be hard fought.. except maybe a STL or VAN against PHX.. don't see that one going past 6 tops.
Chicago is roughly 11-2-4 since the trade deadline
They've won two of their last six with losses to us in regulation and the Devils and Wild (x2) in OT/SO during that stretch. 9 of those wins are in the first 11 games after the deadline. Got hot, cooled off. We're 11-7-1 since the deadline with 3 wins in our last 4 games .... 5 wins in the past 7.

If Mike Smith keeps playing like he has lately, the Yotes can do some damage.
