Well, that was a really boring game. We stopped playing after the first period.

Oh, well, on to the playoffs. We'll take this series, I feel pretty confident about that (I usually do so beforehand though). Hopefully we'll be able to get some bodies back (Grossmann, Brière) without losing others. If so, we might really do some damage in these playoffs.

Hartnell's OT winner against the Penguins a few weeks ago.

I'm going to get the troll boot I'm sure, but does it not matter that the Pens were without Neal, Niskanen, and Sullivan?

I have hateful respect. Legit fanbase, great history, and a solid team to boot. In a weird way, I'd much rather face you than scrubs like Florida; at least there's some excitement, some rivalry, and some good ol' fashioned hate.

Exactly. But it's easier to go for the conspiration theories.

Yeah because not having Neal, Niskanen and Sullivan is exactly like not having Giroux, Grossman, Bryzgalov, Briere and JVR

These things happen when a rivalry boils over the previous game. Of course the referees intentions were to make sure things didn't get out of hand, in that regard it was accomplished. This is going to be NBC's lead series in the 1st round, so the team needs to be prepared for whatever that means.
Just trying to remember, but what was the call on Staal back a couple months ago when he hit Coburn from behind (when Staal got the fine)?

hate to say it, but i dont think we can get past the Pens.

not because the team isnt good enuf to win 4.. but because the refs simply arent going to allow it..

there is NO reason to beleive the reffing wont be even more 1 sided come PO's...

hope im wrong but i suspect Pens advance, based purely on reffing alone.

It was a boarding penalty and subsequently a fine.

Here's video and the accompanying game summary. There were offsetting penalties, too:

Derek Dorsett of Columbus was just in his 2nd fight of the night and passes Zac Rinaldo for PIMs leader.

Who the hell cares who we're missing? I mean, if you're making fun of Pens and the Pens fans, at least start acting better than the people you're mocking, and not be a hypocrite

Yes it will. This game didn't matter so the refs were trying to keep it under control. I am sure they will put the whistles away once the playoffs start

Some Penguins fan came in here and replied: "does it not matter that the Pens were without Neal, Niskanen, and Sullivan?"

And so I responded: "Yeah because not having Neal, Niskanen and Sullivan is exactly like not having Giroux, Grossman, Bryzgalov, Briere and JVR"

..............Yup! I'm definitely a hypocrite
