Yep, the big difference between the two though is that the Rangers have a lot to prove. Boston just won and Thomas just doesn't really give a **** anymore, whereas New York is an intense team and has pretty much been playing playoff style hockey for 82 games. Another area that separates those teams is defensive depth. NYR have one of the top 3 Ds imo and will always have Staal or Girardi on the ice so we can't look for mismatches.

tl;dr

Boston = ON [OFF]
New York = [ON] OFF

New York has a far deeper defense. Del Zotto, Staal, Girardi, McDonagh, Stralman, Sauer etc.

Their forward depth is great too with Stepan, Richards, Callahan, Anisimov, Gaborik, Hagelin, Fedotenko.

The way I see it, our depth forwards won't be able to do anything in a series vs this team. Its going to be all on Spezza and Karlsson to win this and I doubt Anderson will be able to out duel Lundqvist. I would have bet on Andy vs. Thomas though.

Watched the highlights of NYR-WSH: Lundquist got beat by some long shots. He doesn't look comfortable in the net - those seemed to be stoppable shots.
