Love it.

Basically the same contract that every big time CB got this year, but with the cap going up a lot next year, I'm reasonably certain it would have cost a lot more to extend him a year from now.

Jaguars agreed to terms with WR Lee Evans one a one-year contract.

Seems like a decent gamble.

Bell's decent, but nothing to write home about. He has his moments, but he definitely struggles at times. Fitz probably made him look better than he was because Fitz was great at getting the ball out quick.

Lee Evans expected to sign a 1 year deal with the Jags tomorrow. If he's healthy, he's a good veteran presence for a young and, hopefully, improving WR core/QB. If he isn't healthy, he's easily expendable. Makes sense to me.

Minor move: Charlie Batch back as Steelers back-up for another season.

The somewhat surprising tidbit that comes with this...only Tom Brady (2000) has been with the same team for longer than Batch (2002) as far as QBs are concerned.

Pretty hard to imagine many back-ups sticking with the same team for over a decade in the free agency era.

A lot of backups look for a chance to start.

Batch knows he isn't a starter, still wants the paycheck, and doesn't have to convince another team as to his worth.

Steelers aren't looking for Roethlisberger's heir apparent, and thus trust Batch and don't have to go through finding another backup and hoping he knows enough of the system if/when he's called upon.

It's very Steelers of them.

Why Batch over Leftwich and Dixon? But I guess your getting a good backup regardless of which one they chose.

^ Well that answers that question. Steelers just re-signed Leftwich to a 2 year deal.

Patriots signed Jabar Gaffney. How many friggin WRs do they need?

Their depth is crazy a few good players are gonna get cut.

Welker, Lloyd, Branch, Ocho, Gaffney, Stallworth, Gonzalez, Ebert, Edelman. (Plus Tiquan Underwood and Special Team Ace Matthew Slater)

Absolutely loved Jabar Gaffney. Glad he's back.

I think he'll be our third wideout option. Stallworth, Gonzalez, Ebert, and Underwood probably won't make the cut, IMO. And/or Branch, too. Not sure how much he has left in the tank.

I really like the Gaffney pickup. He'll fit right in to the #3 spot.

Addai signing with the Pats. They needed a vet presence in the backfield.

Addai hasn't been good for 4 years and is injury prone

Pat fans hated Maroney ,, Dont see a difference between him and Addai to be honest

You do realize that he's going to be our 3rd stringer, right? He probably won't get more than 5 carries per game.

I'll go one further and say Addai doesn't make it to the regular season.
