Cunneyworth handled himself well in a lameduck role. Its a nice gesture by Molson to offer his family an all expenses paid trip.
I also loved the reaction of the players when Staubitz scored. These are the type of guys that the players really appreciate. If the habs want to keep him around, he can be what Darren Langdon was in the Julien era, except Staubitz is a better player.
You know it's a bizarre season when a Habs win over the Leafs can make the Leafs board so happy..
Nice gesture by Geoff Molson sending RC and his family on a vacation to anywhere in the world he wants to go.. Good luck RC wherever you end up next year..
After the press conference, almost all of the media members went to shake Cunneyworth's hand.
Really couldn't stand his coaching, but I hate saying bad things about the man. Class act all the way and everyone seems to genuinely like him. Hopefully he has a good job next season, even though I don't think he's cut out to be an NHL head coach.
@MAGodin:
Erik Cole encouraged Cunneyworth to put Staubitz on the ice once Toronto goalie had been pulled. Last point & last goal was on April 10 2011
On that information, I'll withdraw my earlier criticism of RC for this.
I was laughing so hard when Desharnais, Patches and Cole were celebrating on the bench when Staubitz scored. I thought Desharnais was going to jump right over top of Patches.
Wow that season sucked! Unreal, the 'mare is over though. Beating those chumps is always good. 2 pretty piss-poor teams though, lots of the unskilled cruising around there.
the only thing people keep talking about is staubz goal and the reactions.
where be dat Fel @?
nice move by cole. i wonder how he knew that. they says players don't follow stats but some of them seem to know what going on to an extent. i don't think staubitz paraded around the dressing room with a sign "woe is me, scoreless in a year" and who would really talk about it?

Hahaha watching Desharnais jumping up and down on the bench was amazing. Such a great guy!
