Do you think Cole will be able to repeat this season?

35 goals, arguably his best regular season performance. He isn't getting any younger. Do you feel he'll be able to deliver just as much or more next season? Or is it simply a wasted regular season effort?

well, seeing how he's 35 and was able to play every game which few other old farts do. if he can stay as healthy, even if he slows down, he should be able to contribute almost a much. earlier this year, we were hoping/doubting he could replicate the season before of like 26-26. so realistically, i'm hoping he can just repeat 2 seasons ago. this season was delicious, salty and fattening gravy, i wouldn't fully expect, nor demand that from him. but i won't rule it out, and i hope he can do it again! he played a long time in carolina with some of the same guys, then didn't have success his year away. i think he feels rejuvinated having chemistry and success with new linemates, when maybe there were doubts, in hockey circles and possibly within. he must feel encouraged and eager. and he's a great 'big brother' to 67. this outlook along with everything else that is erik cole, can only do good. he plays pretty hard and gets knocked around though, i hope it doesn't toll on him quickly. he seems to be a player that ages well.

He gave the habs more than you could have asked for. It might be a reach to ask him to reproduce those numbers. I only hope that he doesn't change his style of play. He has to play that reckless and rambunctious style to produce. He'll be fine.

I doubt it. He'll be turning 34. He hit a career high in PP goals this season. His shooting % was his best since 06-07. Not results likely to repeat. He should still be a very good, very useful, fun to watch player, as he has been most of his career.

Had you told me at the beginning of the season Cole would score 35, Pacioretty would pot 33, and Desharnais would have a breakout 60 pt season I would have said did we get the first, 2nd or 3rd seed? Hard to believe were 15th. Cole did a lot for DD and Patch. Usually career years at 33 don't repeat themselves but he brings a lot more to this team that points.

Both Pacioretty and Desharnais are only going to get better. This was both of their first full season in the NHL and they were incredible. Next year, they will be even more special.

I personally think Cole will play just as well either way, but those guys improving is only going to help him.

I don't think he'll repeat it, but I'm sure he'll still be a force out there on the ice, whether or not he's scoring. I'd expect around 25 goals.

Ray Whitney is having a career year in Phoenix at age 39 (he could turn 40, depending how long Phoenix's playoff run is).

If we can find someone to play with Pleks and Gionta I think he can be just as effective next year. With 2 decent lines it will be much harder for opposing teams to focus down on the DD line.

He seemed to genuinely love playing in Montreal and with Desharnais and Pacioretty. There is no reason he cant hit 30 again which is all we can ask for.

Whitney is an exception to the rule. Also, Cole can't play the way whitney does in order to be successful.

Obviously they don't play the same style. But 33-years-old really isn't that bad.

He wont repeat 35 goals, but I'd be satisfied with 25 goals and constantly driving to the net while using his speed like he did this year.

Nope, I dont think so either. He isn't showing any signs of slowing down, yet. I dont expect him to age like fine wine the way whitney has, though.

I'll start looking at the age factor more closely when he hits north of 35.

I was dreaming of a 30-30=60 points for Cole. He has exceeded that.

I really don't see Cole holding up for the next decade but if he's healthy (and this is the Habs we are talking about, so big if), I can see him keeping it up. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if his numbers drop - and it might be a good thing if it means we have a more balanced offense instead of having one line do everything offense.

I think he could definitely have another 30+ goal season though. And even under is fine as long as he keeps playing like this.

This. Stay healthy, play hard and consistant, score 25+ and that will be great !

Not impossible but it would be unfair to expect a 34 yr old to duplicate a career year

I think he can get 30 again if he plays every game like this year and if he can stay with Pacioretty and Desharnais.

Health is more what I'm worried about with Cole.

Why not. If he doesn't have a ****** start like this year, i expect him to go near 40.

I really think age is just ******** to an extent, Cole seemed to get better as the season went on and was arguably our best player for the last 2 months. As long as he has good conditioning program over the offseason, which I'm sure he probably has I wouldn't be surprised if he equals or even gets more points next year. As well you have take in consideration Cole maybe 34, but has played a lot less games then the average player his own age. As much as PG **** our team up, he left us with a couple easter eggs

I'm getting sick of hearing this... he's the team's ironman with close to 200 straight games played.

He'll be good but he's unlikely to score 35 again. 25 is more likely, depending on whether he's asked to play tough minutes or stays in an exploitaiton role.
