As it's been said at worst we want 7th seed. In the off chance that a good LA team moves on past the first round we maintain home ice, right?

well, last year we went 3-0 in staples, and scored 4 goals in 3 home games.

we cannot face LA until the 3rd round assuming both of us win until then. if we get past stl in the first round, then we'd face chi if they beat phx or the winner of nash/det.

Depends on the seeds. Regardless, the way it works is that the highest seed faces the lowest seed in the second round. If 4, 6, 7, and 8 advance, four plays eight and six plays seven.

its impossible for a 7th seed to play an 8th seed though, so his question on if we get home ice if both of us advance to 2nd round is always going to be 'no'. we can only possibly get it in the 3rd round.
