Yep. Very, very encouraging game. If Johan, Dickey and Niese can all be above average, the season should at least be bearable. Looks like David's HR was right where his old power alley was, too.

No clue where the Yankees got this idea that a guy that was decent in the NL would come to the AL East and be a #2.

Cashman is completely clueless about pitching.

Cashman ... I hope he won't be making any more Vazquez, Pineda-type trades anymore.

No clue where people get this idea that's it right to judge a pitcher after one start.

WTF? So we've just skipped the whole "watch Pineda pitch" thing and gone straight to "bust"?

Not the first time Cashman has done this either.
Latroy Hawkins, Chan Ho Park, Farnsworth, etc., were all mediocre in the NL yet he somehow thought they would succeed in the AL East.
Edit: Oh, and how can I forget Javier Vazquez? Not once, but twice, he made that mistake.

Wow you are more negative about baseball than you are about hockey. Didnt think that was possible.
Kuroda was brought in to be a #3 behind CC and Pineda. 3.56 xFIP last season, 27th best in baseball. Better than Lester, Fister, Romero, Cain and Dan Hudson. Kuroda is 1 of the better #3s in baseball. Lets give him at least half a season before judging him.
Same goes for Pineda. He's had shoulder injuries and lost velocity. Lets get him back healthy before ripping into that trade.

Even with 160 games remaining, there is zero chance they dig themselves out of that hole.

Citi is empty today. Just goes to show you that even a 2-0 start doesn't change how a bad ownership can keep fans from the park.

Neise loses the no hitter bid, still a ridiculous game though.

Yankees April schedule is really tough. It always is. I'm guessing MLB wants good tv ratings to compete with NHL and NBA playoffs.
Detroit, Texas, Boston, Tampa, Angels?????
No, no coincidence at all.
I've been following this team too long to get worried 3 games into the season.
Remember Boston's 8-0?

It's not the three games I'm concerned with. The problem is that there is too much money tied up in aging stars who don't have it anymore.
