Was glancing through the PIM list (to see if Pommer might get another Lady Byng nom--he has 12 PIM) and came across this one.
Brian Campbell has played 81 games with only 6 PIM. For a defenseman averaging almost 27 mins/game (leading the league) that's just plain absurd.

Grossman being signed is a bummer, he would've been a solid defensive upgrade to Leopold. Looks like unless we sign Suter or Garrison has untapped potential, we're gonna be filling virtually all of our needs through trade.

Just because this involves ex-Sabres:
VIDEO
Couple of old friends play on SKA, who just lost to Dynamo in the Cup semifinals.
2:55 - watch Afinogenov with a sweet backcheck while allowing a SHG. Just a little attempt at a hook
And then Kalinin (7) scores on a 5 on 3 at 4:20.

Kalinin! God, how long did Darcy and Lindy stick with that guy before having to concede he was not NHL level talent?
More shoving of the square peg into the round hole for the dynamic duo. They are historically very good at that.

He was an NHL talent at one point for a handful of years. We saw occasional spurts but certainly not enough that should have come with someone of that draft stature.

Aliu scored a few against the Amerks this week and now gives the Flames a 1-0 lead.
Go Flames! Go Avs! #betterdraftposition

Yeah, but if the Flames win, their 2nd rounder gets worsened...
Avs winning is two fold: they can pass us AND they can prevent the Preds pick from getting worse too (the Preds currently trail the Flyers by a point, we want them to stay under the Flyers)...a Flyers win would also help in that regard.
A Sabres regulation loss gives us 11th regardless, we "own" the tiebreakers. So we lose, it doesn't matter what other teams do.
In that case, we also want Dallas to win (to improve Calgary's 2nd rounder) and the Avs to outpoint the Flames (unfortunately the Avs have the tiebreak with the Flames).

I find this strange:
If Washington wins and Florida loses, then Ottawa remains the 7th seed, buuuut
If Washington wins and Florida wins, then Ottawa is bumped to 8th,
I'm not a fan of the new tie breaking system of ROW, this to me just seems odd

So it'll be Washington and Boston..... damn. I was really hoping the Caps would get the chance to get ***** stomped by NY, but I guess it'll have to be Boston instead.

I will.
Out of this year's Eastern Conference playoff teams, they're the only two teams that I can stomach.

While I agree it's probably the least compelling eastern series for non-fans of either team, I love watching Kovy.

Well that's what I mean - given the choice between that and the other Eastern series, I'm not going out of my way to watch it.

Bottom five teams with a chance at #1 overall (in order): Columbus, Edmonton, Montréal, New York Islanders, Toronto
Toronto edges out Anaheim based on goal differential.
Draft lottery is on the 10th at 8PM ET.

This is gonna get rigged like the 84 NBA Ewing lottery.
If CBJ actually gets the #1 I'd be shocked.
Three Canadian teams in the 5? And the two with the most history?

Fixed.
Seriously, dropping all the way to 13th despite being tied for the best chance of landing the #1 pick is just
worthy.

Vancouver up 3-0 over Edmonton with six left in the third, so they are pretty much guaranteed at least a point, which means they'll clinch their second consecutive Presidents' Trophy.
They'll play the loser of the LA-San Jose game.
St. Louis will play the winner of the LA-San Jose game.

Going to be an interesting playoffs this year.
I forsee a potential STL-NASH & NJ-PHI conference finals.
Just hoping Pittsburgh gets out immediately and the Bruins. Nobody wants to listen to their fans for 2 more months.

Yeah, tone is a bit whiny, but I don't disagree with the main point.
