Worst sports days in your life? Seems unlikely considering there aren't any playoffs going on at the moment.

Well most of time we've been in the playoffs, I had zero faith. How upset could you have possibly been last season when we got knocked out? If I had to say the absolute #1 worst sports moment, then the 2004 ALCS.

Bam. Regular season is officially over with a Sharks win in OT.

Crazy. Seems like just 2 weeks ago the winter classic penalty shot was going down. Sometimes I wish life had a .75 speed option.

Wow, what a regular season. Great way to end it. Glad the Sharks won.

The Drury goal against us with 7.7 to go...and subsequent OT loss was 100x worse than today. Heck, game 4 vs. the caps was way worse than today...because we were up by 3 and looked like we were going to tie the series up at 2 games a piece. That was disheartening to say the least. Today isn't anywhere towards the top of worst sports moments for me. Sure the PT would have definitely been nice. But we are still the #1 seed in the Conference and had a great regular season. I'm sure this team will be ready to kick some ass come Thursday.

Well I never really ranked it, but you're right. And it's not just because of losing the Presidents' Trophy. We lost to Washington in a pathetic fashion, Vancouver won, AND Florida won. Nothing went our way.

For real. It was the exact opposite of the "Perfect Scenario" posts I've been posting over and over during the past few days.

The wait is going to be horrible. I'm a big baseball fan but

The first quarter of the MLB season isn't even in the same dimension as the NHL playoffs.

I can't believe I'll have 2 blowout losses in a row to think about till Thursday. Instead of thinking about the great season we had and looking forward to kicking some ass in the playoffs, I will think of the self destruction and how I have zero confidence right now going into the playoffs. Everyone wanted Ottawa more than Washington and Buffalo, but Ottawa has owned us all year. I'll be thinking of all the wrong things and will be depressed until Thursday.

I wonder how many TV sets survived those two days. Worst two-day period in NY sports ever.

I think we lucked out with Ottawa losing and not having to face the Capitals, no?

Yesterday was bad but not horrible;

The end to the 05-06 season was one of the worse days I've had as a fan.

Any Sunday where the Rangers/Giants/CT. Whale/my Fantasy Hockey team all losses is worse.

Yesterday was meh. To look at it from a positive point of; hopefully the Rangers got their half-@#!ssed performance and running into a hot no name goalie out of the way BEFORE the playoffs start, not in it.

If Holtby place like that, and the Capitals play like that, Boston is not going to have fun.

Congrats to Stamkos getting 60 goals.

Who were the only players to get 60 from 1993-1994 onward? I read that Stammer is only the 7/8th player to do so.

Ovechkin did it. Lemieux & Jagr on the 95-96 Pens did it. I can't think of any others after 93-94.

Also wanted to congratulate Akim Aliu on netting his first two NHL goals yesterday. The Nigerian power forward via Moscow finally made it to the NHL after spending time in a three organizations (CHI, ATL/WPG, CGY).

Was very interested in him during his draft year and I remember on here there was much discussion on him.

Agreed, perfect scenario was Florida, but I would much rather the Sens then the Caps, with Backstrom back in that lineup and Ovechkin seeming to heat up.

I would still like to beat the Caps on the way to the Cup.

I have this funny feeling they're going to give Boston all they can handle and Holtby will be doing his best Ken Dryden. No logic, just Spider Sense.

I believe we'll see a Rangers/Capitals second round starting on April 28th.

Piles finish season by getting blownout by the worst team and proudly finish 27th.
Who does the Isles games? He was saying in the dying moments of the game how the 7-3 score was not indicative of how they played today.
Guess ya have to drink a whole lot of koolaid to hold on to that gig.

MLB doesn't even exist while there is NHL playoffs....not same dimension, galaxy, or universe.

A word of warning: Stay away from the Caps board. It's one hell of a volatile place.
