Kings are the worst playoff team at holding 2nd period leads. Finished 21st in the NHL.

Doesn't seem like the "core" has learned anything the past three seasons. Will they ever learn?

Having to face the top team in the NHL in the first round doesn't bode well for their first series win in forever.

Does dean really keep his job by finishing 8th in year 6?

Third straight year we back into the playoffs. I was hoping to be proved wrong this year but....

They need to be gone after this season. Gone, gone, gone. Along with Penner and Richardson. Except for a brief run for Penner a few weeks ago, he has regressed to his usual crappy play. I am through defending the guy.

Yeah pretty infuriating. Being a Kings fan is a bizarre form of torture. Taking these ridiculous penalties take it's toll. The standard in the NHL is pretty clear on what hitting from behind is and we have veteran guys that still can't figure it out in game 82.

My only hope is that Daryl has some effective methods to clean this up.

Time to stop moping and start focusing on winning game one.

I'm happy to be in the big dance considering how the season went but I have little to no faith in this team going forward. This squad is just too damn emotionally fragile

Meh, how we get into the playoffs really isn't all that important.

It's what we do in the playoffs that really matters.

Wow, so is everyone giving up before the playoffs even start. I don't think a few bad bounces = Kings choking again in April. Believe in your team. They might surprise you.

If I recall correctly, the Kings finished 6th in 2010, 7th in 2011, and 8th now in 2012. So if we finish 9th in 2013, does that mean the end of the Lombardi era?

lol. Silver lining is when Kings, Sharks, Coyotes and Nashville all win first round, we get PHX round 2
Did you even watch the game? The Kings folded in the third and couldn't handle the pressure. The Sharks dominated, and the Kings choked...one again.

Yup.

Not really worried about it, they either play well and knock the Nucks out. Or they play bad and golf early again.

We will see how bad the Kings want it. That's a good thing.

Without tempting fate, i'm glad this year at least we get to start the playoffs with Kopitar and a relatively healthy team. A shame quick isn't a little more rested, but we are a team built for playoff hockey.

This is three seasons in a row the Kings have backed in the playoffs. The last two seasons the ability to get home ice/win the division was in their control going into the last two games and they've lost all four. ****ing pathetic.

This team is ripe to get steamrolled.

the 'playoff form Quick' comments are laughable aswell. He makes a couple of huge saves in the game, yet gets 3 unlucky goals go past him off his own defencemen and suddenly he's choking?

Give me a break

They also blew leads against Minnesota last week, and San Jose earlier this week. There is no reason that either of these three blown leads should have happened.

I hope I'm wrong more than anything else in the world, but this happens time and time again, season after season.

Yah people said that last year too, and the Kings almost won the series without Kopitar/Richards/Carter/Slava ETC. . Also Quick and the D not showing up for some games.

So I am not putting any stock into these last two games.

I wouldn't call the third one "lucky".

Couldn't you recall the 5 beauties that Quick allowed Thursday night which was a playoff-esque game?

I made an assumption, if it was a bad one, consider it retracted. But with 51 posts I'm not familiar with your work.

Same choking characteristics they displayed last year in important games are resurfacing now. Why shouldn't we not expect this?

Well I don't mind playing Vancouver but man I'm going to hate seeing their fans on this board. Just another headache to deal with.

BTW this team needs to work on closing the game off with a lead in the 3rd.
