Maybe people just perceive it as coasting because last year the team had a regular season that just couldn't be matched?

So, I had to spend most of the year reading and hearing about how ****** we were playing, how we put no effort in our games... aaand here we are, finishing the season #1 overall.

If we truly coasted through the season, then imagine what our boys will do during the REAL season.

Exactly. Our team can definitely play better than they have for a lot of the season (especially the last 3 months, discounting this win streak), but it's not like we're gonna be streamrolling anyone.

Ranger fan here. I'm pretty upset, but I'll be a man and congratulate the better team. This was one of two things I really wanted, and it's crazy how much I'm pissed. I can't imagine what it felt like to lose the Stanley Cup. I'm not trying to upset you guys, I'm being real. I'm not really confident enough in the Rangers where they can win the Cup, that's why winning the Presidents' Trophy would have been fine by me, but we blew it. Congrats.

Thanks but really doesn't mean jack! All about the Stanley cup. If by June the rangers won the cup we can switch places.

I'm happy the Canucks won the President's Trophy. To win it twice in a row, and to not suffer from Cup finals hangover, is quite impressive. This team is obviously in good hands when it comes to management and coaching...

Real class right here. Congrats to the Rangers as well for first in the east. No accident there.

The game tonight to clinch it was awesome to watch. Against a division rival and it was a shutout. Lou deserves it after all the scrutiny throughout the year. Oh and how about Booth's goal!

Trust me, you'll be happier than ever after you knock out the Senators.

Lose the Presidents Trophy and you still have the playoffs to redeem yourselves.
Lose the Stanley Cup and you have a long, painful off-season.

I have to admit, I wanted the boys to win the President's Trophy tonight....especially after crapping the bed against Calgary.

Yeah, it's not the hardware we're truly after...but it's a nice appetizer for the boys to whet their and our appetites with, before the main course.

Congrats to them....and now let the games begin!

Good to know we could win the PT in a low gear. If Kesler gets hot again, and Daniel comes back and subsequently regains form, it's GG for the rest of the west.
