Attn: Soccer Moms & Dads : 2005 Dodge Town & Country - questions

Hey soccer parents....seeing out there who has this van...It's a 2005 Dodge Town & Country...it has the 3.3 liter in it....

Who has one, and what can you tell me about it ?

How reliable is it ? Does it break down a lot ?

thanks

If you asked my dad, who swears by everything Chrysler, he'd tell you it's a quality vehicle. He's currently driving a 2002 Caravan into the ground. My mom passed it off to him when she bought a Corolla.

Everyone in my family drives an import now except my dad.

I should ask, though, what are you planning on using it for? The Caravan we have is great for towing, so I would assume the T & C is as well.

Wow, can't believe all the negative reviews on this thing....Seems like the vehicle has a lot of bells and whistles but has all kinds of mechanical and electrical problems, and at early mileage too....That scares me....

I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 4x4 that I had loaded down for years...drove the hell out of the *******....Up to 130k miles now, and the only thing that has gone wrong with it is an inner tie rod....

These vans have a ton of things people are reporting - all kinds of electrical problems - some of which the dealer cant figure out lol....Doors that wont work....rack and pinion steering needing replacement early....Full transmission replacements....

Ugh, I am starting to lean to go back with a Crown Vic. Plus the 3.3L is the small engine....

Anyone that has any info on this Van feel free to chime in....thanks

Now I have Dodge caravan ads at the top of the page since I looked at this thread. That's lame.

Chrysler have been notorious in the past for transmission problems. They tend to put undersized tranny's in their vehicles and over time they fail. I've heard they've been better of late but not sure by how much and what years.
