The Dawson Creek Rage have folded. They couldnt purchase an existing AJHL franchise to gain entry into that League, and said the "BC(HL) won't even give us the time of day."

I'm actually happy Dawson Creek is no more. I hated that team but not as much as Alexandria and Aberdeen.

nice way to finish off the season with a blowout in the last game..
this is no april's fools thing but it makes you wonder
Hard to believe one player on each team was an even for the game.

I went to the 8-0 game the night before and was underwhelmed by the effort Chicago put out. The only reason I could think of to go to this game was to see if Joe Kalisz would win the scoring title. He did.

The NAHL team in Alexandria,MN is moving to Brookings,SD and will still be called the Blizzard. They will play in the Larson Ice Center that seats 2000 fans.

The Blizzard should do very well at the gate in Brookings.

Alexandria will still have a team but they will play in the NA3HL and will also be called the Blizzards also. Its going to be great to have another SD team though.

Like so many of the players still in the Playoffs they are waiting to commit to a college just in case some other school is looking at them while on their way to the Robbie. I know a few Bobcats players are holding out until after the season is over.

St. Louis Bandits granted inactive status for 2012-13. Big loss for the NAHL and St. Louis Hockey community.

Will there be a divisional realignment due to teams leaving the West? Where does this leave teams like Fresno?

Sad day. I photographed the New Mexico Mustangs the two seasons they were in operation. it's a shame, but hockey is tough in New Mexico, especially when they are 20 miles outside of Albuquerque.

Draft Day today. http://www.nahldraft.com

There are a lot of players getting picked from the USHL. The Springfield Jr. Blues have 15 picks, the highest number of picks overall. The lowest was Wenatchee, who had one pick in the first round.

Alright cleaned up the OP. Couple of other notes.

Soo Eagles added, Alaska Avalanche move to Johnstown PA becomes the Tomahawks. St. Louis, Dawson Creek, and New Mexico all fold.

Not surprising given either their low attendance and/or outlier.

Games between Janesville and Springfield should be fun this season now that Joe Dibble is running the Jets. The fans ought to welcome him somewhat warmly for getting the team into the playoffs after a disastrous start to last season.

I'm not completely optimistic for the Jr. Blues' chances this season since there's been a huge change in the front and back offices and I still don't know who's coming back from last season. Still, they're my hometown team so I'm going to support them. Maybe this will be the year they don't act like the Prospect Tournament's punching bag at the start of the season.

Well that's good, I hope they come back, they deserve to still have a team after their run last year.
