Warren Sapp has a new chapter in life...Chapter 7
Filed in Florida:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...es-bankruptcy/
Quote:
He has filed under Chapter 7, which will result in full liquidation of his $6.45 million in assets (including a “Large Nude women painting” . . . it’s unclear whether the painting or the women are large) to pay his $6.7 million in debts.
According to the filing, Sapp owes the IRS more than $900,000, along with hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support.

Sucks for him, I hope he figures it out.
With that said, for him wrongfully outing Shockey on twitter as the 'snitch' in this whole bounty mess:
Karma Mr. Sapp, Karma.

It amazes me time and time again that so many ex-athletes go broke.

Why? It's not like most of them went to school to get educated. (on the flip side, I don't think the big NCAA schools care about their education either; football is big business).
But even then, they make poor decisions when in school/gone pro: many babies with different mothers, poor financial decisions, poor investment advice...they probably figure that mult-million dollar paycheck is a bottomless well. Throw on top that the typical NFL career is short.

Sapp's average monthly income isn't $45,000, it's $115,000.

I would be shocked if NFL Network did, he's not that great anyway and he opened up NFLN to a lawsuit by Shockey.

The fact he thinks whoever turned in NO is a "snitch" and they did something wrong, makes me laugh at this news. We need less people like him around.

My question is, are they too stupid to have financial advisors? Either that, or the advisors tell them whatever as long as they get their cut or the athlete just doesn't care what they say.
For someone who's one of the better players at their position in athletics, there's no reason to go broke. Smart finances tell you that you could live quite well off the money you make and put some away till after 50.

I guess Terrell Owens has a new buddy in Warren Sapp..heck, Antonio Cromartie the same boat.
Why can't these guys be like Warrick Dunn and make good use of themselves.

His contract wont be renewed with that stupid move(Some sources have said it was a coach on his staff who gave Williams up not Shockey)
Curious how he changed his twitter moniker now...(QBKilla to warrensapp)
Can you say damage control?

I Lol'ed at the title. Why can't sports players manage their money? Or if they just blow it use it for a good cause like Warrick Dunn does, like another poster said.

Because they don't know how to and/or they get terrible advice.
