Guess we won't have the 2-3-2 series style like Calgary/Brandon had in the Quarters.
Yes, I think that format really hurt the Hitmen. Especially after splitting at home before they went to Winnipeg. I am expecting Edmonton to win quite handily, but then again I also expected Calgary to beat Brandon as well.
Weird to see such a long break between Games 2 and 3 in the Spokane/Tri-City series, with Game 2 being on Saturday and Game 3 on Wednesday.
Also, Tvrdon got recalled to the AHL affiliate of the Red Wings today; hopefully he gains some valuable experience and brings it back next year to the Giants, as we need all the help we can get with Gallagher gone.
Can't believe the Giants collapsed the way they did. The 5-1 loss at home was a huge kick in the *****.
luongoisdaman, I don't think Tvrdon is returning next year. Only thing that gives me a bit of hope is that Detroit has no problem taking their time developing their prospects and could send back to junior. Fingers crossed. I hope Martinook comes back at least. Next season will be a battle just to get the eight spot.
Doom and gloom aside, big thanks to Neil Manning for the 5 years he wore the Giants uniform. He better be the first Ring of Honour inductee next season. Also big thanks to Adam Morrison for literally coming in and saving our season. Co-MVP with Gallagher, IMHO.
As for the rest of the playoffs, go Edmonton!

Man, if Tvrdon isn't coming back either, there's gonna be some Shaq-size shoes that will need to be filled someway. No Gallagher, Martinook (maybe), Tvrdon (maybe), Musil (maybe), Manning, Morrison...
Hopefully the next wave of Giants come quick, namely Ast, Popoff, Houck, Kulak etc etc. 'cause we're gonna need all the help we can get with those huge holes next year.
We need a starting goalie too. Not sure if Peyton Lee or Jackson Whistle will suffice.

Can anyone explain to me how the league rationalizes giving a 5 minute major/game misconduct and a suspension purely based on what happened to the player on the play? Etem would have gotten 2 minutes for that play if he hadn't injured someone, are suspensions not based on intent? It wasn't a dangerous play, it was just a freak accident.

Every league is different, they should take both into consideration, the players intent and the result.

Is there any word on how long Etem will be out? He has no precedence for these kinds of incidents, and it was a kneeing call, not a hit to the head or something, and from what it looks like the other player turned at the last second and Etem couldn't react. You think he'll miss more than 2 games?

The suspension was 1 game and he has already served it.
