Is this just a rumour? It can't be true. If it is then turn back and be more like Moriarty mgmt, UNDO, he just can't continue.

To the people last week who said it was ok to bring sacco back. Are you still feeling that he should return after the past two lifeless beatings at home? It's ok to flip flop just as long as you're on the fire sucko bandwagon.

My stance is going to make the best of a situation I don't control. I don't want to start *****ing and whining about things before game #1. It isn't my decision, and I have 0 say.

I really don't think Sacco should be back. But I'm not going to blame every bad play and every mistake on him. I remember Q getting it when he was here too. There will be things you don't agree on with every coach.

Who are we possibly going to bring in that is a better coach than Sacco, at this point?

He isn't that bad of a coach. This team's offensive studs (I'm looking at you Duchene) just didn't show up this season. Dutchy's defensive game was absolutely brutal this year. I don't understand why he took such a step backwards in his D-game.
----------------------------
Hunwick-Johnson
Hejda-O'Byrne
Wilson/Barrie-SOB

That defense just blows. There's no other way to put it. It looks absolutely brutal on paper...yet Sacco (and Lefevbre I guess) found a way to actually make us a top 15 team defensively.

Our problems this year were very mainly based on offense. Which kinda surprised me because we had always been a very offensive team the past couple seasons. I'm hoping Sacco has a short leash for next season, but if he can find a balance between his defensive system of this season and his offensive system of the last 2 seasons, we could be in good shape.

Most importantly though, Sherman's gotta pick up a couple D-men. Suter would be unreal, but even a guy like Garrison would be nice. Carle would also be a decent pick-up to supply some offense to the D. We were last in points by defensemen this season. The Avs could also could use some vets like the Blues did when they got Arnott and Langenbrunner. These young guys need to learn what it takes to win. I think having Darcy Tucker in 2009 actually really helped the young guys come along and clinch a playoff spot that season when things were looking bleak.

So to make things clear lol, I'm not a huge Sacco advocate, but I don't bash the guy for every stupid thing like 99% of the posters here like to do. This team has many gaping holes that need to be fixed, and the young guys need to grow up a bit more and play with consistency.

We're going to completely change our judgment on two games? We should apply for the Habs GM position if that's the case.

If Sacco stumbles out the gate with what damn well better be an improved roster from this year's, then yeah, fire him with extreme prejudice.

This has been the league's youngest team with the league's lowest payroll three years running. They just barely missed making the playoffs. That's all on the coach? Sorry...I don't get the logic...actually, there's no logic involved whatsoever. Sacco is not my favorite coach, but he deserves a shot to see if he can do better with a fully stocked roster.

This was his ''shot''. He should have been canned after that horrible 2nd half last year.

Really? The fact that he managed to eke out wins despite a horribly banged-up roster until Fleischmann went down counts for nothing? The fact that Craig Anderson basically went into shutdown mode (and not in a good way) when the Avs didn't fall over backward and give him a lucrative extension is something Sacco should've just figured out? Yeah...that's all on the coach.

Don't be ridiculous. Taking the league's youngest and cheapest team to the postseason in year 1 and to the brink of the postseason in year 3 has to count for something. Coaching a team that should have by all accounts been a lottery pick contender every single year he's been the coach is his "shot?"

Don't get me wrong, Sacco does a lot of things to piss me off too, and for a short time even I was calling for his head. And I will jump right on that bandwagon with the rest of you if next season the Avs play like fools against their divisional rivals or once again get off to a piss-poor start. But I want to see what this guy can do when ownership and management give him something more than a piecemeal squad. Right now those of you still burned up about the way the Avs played these last two games (understandable to a point, I'm mad too) and want to fire Sacco off the freaking planet tell me what rock-star coach is out there who's going to make this team as presently comprised into a Stanley Cup contender. Note I said PRESENTLY COMPRISED.

I was for firing sucko from last january, but this year some people flip flopped and gave him a pass up to last week still clinging to hope. Now I'm just wondering what those people who had hope that the avs would win the last two games and sneak their way into the playoffs are saying after the last two home games where the avs got destroyed in both. The home loss to the jackets in the march was the telltale sign that this team wasn't going to make it. Then they promptly lost almost every must win game and several by choking away leads.

goes both ways
the only reason his name ever was mentioned in the same breath as Tippett and Trotz for the Adams in 09/10 was because of said Craig Anderson who stood on his head each and every night (2233 shots against) bailing out a team with no defensive strategy
Sacco should have been fired long ago .... he is a complete failure (player, AHL coach, NHL coach)

pretty tired of youth being used as an excuse
it has been the youth that has been carying us not the vets (Hejduk) ... the same youth lead Pittsburgh and Chicago to cups

go ahead, look at average age and let me know what well coached teams like Nashville, St. Louis and the Rangers excuses are
http://nhlnumbers.com/teams?sort=ave...=asc&year=2012

look at cap hit and tell me how Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Columbus, Buffalo, etc are all buying themselves a playoff spot

his teams (AHL and NHL) have missed the post season every year except 1 and that 1 year the team finished 8th ... playoffs yes, but the last available spot and lost in the first round

In what fantasy world do you believe that we are going to have a fully stocked roster? Josh Kroenke is really going to go out and get us Parise or Suter or ??? that will put us over the top? Maybe if this was 2001 again.
