This player always caught my eye whenever I saw him play with Dallas.
It seems he's no longer a secret.
Great signing.

Look at Volchenkov who was a heavy hitting defenceman as a UFA.
For all of those people saying they paid too much, all I can do is just lol.

Grossman is the type of D-Man that this team has needed since Pronger got hurt. Great signing and better yet, this means bye-bye Carle.

Hate it from a Pens POV. This guy is a very underrated player.

Though not be A+ caliber, you have to think the market will grow if an amnesty is offered in the new cba.

the guy has been better then advertised. he would have gotten this contract easily on the open market. Likely from a division rival.
Holmgren got this one right.

Holmgren continues to prove people wrong. What a fantastic future he has set up for Philly. His most underrated move may be having Matt Read locked up for 2 more years at 900k.
Edit: Giroux at 3.75 for 2 more years

Yeh, but Holmgren sucks? I thought that's how it was supposed to go?
Yet another top move. Not a single person criticising it!

Kind of off-topic, but on-topic at the same time, any rationale for the change in spelling of his name since the trade to Philly? I'm a Stars fan and I remember the spelling always being Grossman, and now I see it as Grossmann all the time.

Apparently it has always been Grossmann but when he first joined the Stars they spelled it "Grossman". He said he was just happy to be there at first and didn't want to disrupt anything. Pretty hilarious when you think about it.
