I started growing a beard for the Sharks playoff push. It obviously worked and my beard looks magnificent.
Now, question is: Do I shave it and start all over for the playoffs, or keep the good luck beard, the one that helped the Sharks get into the playoffs, rolling?
It seems like the tradition is dying off among the players. Tons of players kept goatees/beards from the regular season. I'd like to see what the Sharks go with. Betting Havlat keeps his.
I always have a beard, but it is typically trimmed quite short. I will trim it for the last time tomorrow morning. It basically is then as if I started growing it at the end of the regular season . It gets pretty unpleasant if the Sharks go far though, so I'm glad that won't be a problem.

I've done it every year for what seems forever, but I finally got a job and it's not allowed at work. Damn you professional business setting! lol
What about professional business settings don't allow beards? Nobody told Abe Lincoln the White House was too professional to have a beard, I don't see how your office is more important!
Seriously, this sounds like it should violate some kind of equal employment law. That's like saying no bald people!

While I agree, most states have are At Will employment, so they can give you the ax for any reason (technically), and really dont have to explain themselves. Obviously there's exceptions, but you'd have to prove it blah blah blah. My thought is that men have facial hair for a reason, so I keep a beard year round. If they dont like it, too bad! I'm also lucky to live in Seattle, where the professional atmosphere is one of the most relaxed in the country, so it's not abnormal.
Been growing it since we won against Phoenix or Dallas a few weeks ago. Don't remember which game but went to both. Actually, went to 3/5 the last home games if I remember correctly.
Shaved the day after the regular season ended. Last year and the year before my beard looked so awful, I was almost relieved after we got eliminated. Felt ashamed for that though.
I shaved the day before game one. I'm just too lazy to shave that often so this will be my excuse. At least until one of my bosses says it should go since they aren't technically allowed, but they usually don't.
I liked growing it out, actually had a lot of comments about it near the end.
I think I'll stick with growing a beard once the Sharks clinch or go the entire season (starting in pre season). I regret not starting it right when the season began.
